See what I did there?

This is not one of those 'we've turned the corner' threads which invariably make you look teddish when we get spanked in three of our next four games.

Especially when I have been the most negative and doom mongering melt on this site since the start of the season. You see, Im desperate for us to be ace again. I can't comprehend it, Im always waiting for the bubble to burst - we're blues and its what we do best. In many cases we revel in our gashness, and those that didnt see it coming were blind, naive, bad gayers. That might explain why we're so quick to condemn any player that we've spent good money on - See: Yakubu, Beattie, Kroldrup et al.

I started following the blues in 83, much to the despair of my largely red family. I could wax lyrical about the calling of the blues and all that but in fairness it was the formation of my ability to rebel against [Poor language removed], the blues were dump then as opposed to the the [Poor language removed] who were sweeping everything before them in Europe, there was no incentive for a young lad to follow the blues. All the bad meffs on the playground were reinacting being Rush, Dalglish and that. By May 1984 I was hooked watching us snot Watford and Elton John at Wembley. It was glory days of boss trabs and trackies too.

84-87 was dreamland and in fairness I didnt appreciate it. Being ace was sound, Shoot Magazine kissed our arses and ran articles on our players. I can name them 1-14 off by heart. They were the best team Ive ever seen.

And so it turns to being 30. The interim, 95 FA Cup Final apart, has been gash until Moyes took over and suddenly I got to terms with us being on page 1/2 on Teletext. And suddenly, like a stray mongrel stripped of a good meal, Im thirsty for being boss again. The problem is that that Im [Poor language removed] scared of us going gash, my only defense mechanism is to say I had seen it coming. Thats bad isnt it?

But Im telling you, with this team we have now we can do something. [Poor language removed] me have you seen some of the footie we've been playing. See that goal against Larissa? Seen the boss forwards we have?

Maybe it will go to [Poor language removed], and I will annoy you with telling you that I had seen it coming. I could feel it, sense it. It started with us getting snotted off the park by those bad grocks at Luton. An anti Kevin Brock moment, all downhill.

But today Im glad to be a blue and I have optimism, something Ive not had following us for a while. Im not arsed about Kirkby, [Poor language removed] ticketing systems, EvertonTV's [Poor language removed] service, Hibbert or the chance of Yakubu turning out to be the dog I suspect he is.

Just knowing we will snot Luton tomorrow night is all I need to know, keep it down but we're slighty ace again.

MESSAGE ENDS.

erm...its tommorow night...

...the rest of the post it good though  (y)

No mention of dogs, bums, worm burping or even boys.

I like it, has chico turned the corner?

Nice post mate.

I started supporting the blues at the age of 5 (1985) you could probably call me a glory hunter back then. A good percentage of my family were from Liverpool and I used to go up there and they down here. Banter was what turned me to the blues and the fact that we were kicking ass!

My biggest heart ache came in 89 and that cup final. Watching the game with my cousin who was a red was one of the hardest things to do. Stuart McCall- legend!

But that is the way it is being an Evertonian- as Chico said, being let down is part and parcel of the fun. Who knows- maybe this is OUR season to win some silverware??!

Chico makes some very key points. The fisrt 3 times Moyes had success (7th, 4th, 6th) our football wasn't exactly flowing. But this season, at times, we do look almost like the twinkle in Kendall's 1983 eye. I actually don't mind the fact that signings like Kroldrup and BT haven't worked out. Yak - we'll see, but even if he is gash it doesn't matter, because on the theory that you cannot win the lottery without buying a ticket, look at the risks Moyes took on Cahill and Arteta (yes, when we first signed him on loan there were serious misgivings about him).

I do scratch my head when I see a central midfield of Neville and Jags, though.

''And suddenly, like a stray mongrel stripped of a good meal, Im thristy for being boss again.''

As for monsieur azul, self fulfilling prophecy? covering ones own back? playing down the chances so as to heighten the elation if the blues do win something?

irvine has said johnno is a couple of weeks away, vaughan is almost back, the grave digger has had game time, cahill is a starter again, and maybe, just maybe we draw the refshite in the carling and uefa cups.

"whisper words of wisdom, let it be"

Ive got a serious question about Jags- what does he have to do to convince people of what he can do?!

He has had a bit part to play so far and the game against the [Poor language removed] he was one of our best players in MIDFIELD. he matched everyone of Liverpools midfield and still he doesnt get any credit.

Lets be fair he hasnt played there that many times so its easy to say hes learning his trade at centray midfield- so lets cut him some slack eh?

Either Im really thick or you are a bit mental? ;)

Jagielka looked sound at right back, and his best position is centre half.

I still think Moyes will mould him into the Carsley role, as lets face it the side has looked much better since Carsley came back in.

Another sign of our aceness is that we've spent 4 million on a squad players, in the very near past that would have been our main summer signing.

Like I said, we're getting boss again.

No, you misuderstand, I could have put Carsley in place of either of them and I'm a big Cars fan.

I mean I'm not a fan of playing two defensive midfielders, which is more like a 4-2-3-1 or even a 4-2-2-2 formation (yes, I know!!) - I'd prefer a 4-1-4-1 like we played against Derby, or a 4-1-3-2 (or 4-4-2 with a diamond midfield).

*EDIT: and because he so wanted so badly to play for Everton, I really want him to succeed.

To answer - he needs to play well the whole season for us - he's new, and has to prove his worth, as a new player - the jury is still out on him. One or two good games aren't enough.

I have no doubt that if he works hard he'll become a favourite.
