Why would I watch anymore if it bored the life out of me? 3 hours of basically watching the referees talk and adverts is ridiculous.
That’s fine, but you made a statement you can’t back up to argue your point . But you’ve never watched more than 3 games which makes your argument idiotic and null and void . And if you did watch last nights game you’d of seen yet again another match full of drama that went down to the wire .

So I have to stick pins in my eyes more than once to know it hurts? Trying to watch something, and not liking, something on three occasions is perfectly fine. This is especially given the fact that most British people look on American Football as inferior. Which it is, hence why only Americans play it, whilst the World participates in the World Cup.

you are missing your own point . You don’t like it that’s fair enough but you said it doesn’t have the drama of football based on 3 games of watching it . Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have drama and great games . Leave it there you are having a mare lad.

You've made your point.
Clearly.
And repeatedly.
So why not leave the thread now, and let this of us that enjoy American football discuss last night's game in peace?

I'm of a similar opinion to @ilikecheese : neither team's defence came even close to performing well, so for me the game was substantially less exciting than it usually is. If I want to watch two teams taking turns going the length of the field to score, I'll tune in to basketball.

I think the offensive lines on both teams played very well, evidenced by both QBs going the vast majority of the game untouched - but combine that with the ridiculously harsh Pass Interference rules we currently have and all you are left with is a lot of pitch-and-catch. It's no coincidence that the most exciting moments of the game were the hit on Brandin Crooks, the interception, and the Brady sack/fumble.

The kickoff rule needs looking at again - it would be nice to see kick returns again.

The refusal to acknowledge the fumble by Amendola at the start of the 4th was disgraceful. The whistle came after the ball was ripped loose, Amendola was still trying to move forward and he was in bounds. Clear fumble.

The no-call on the pass interference to stop the Eagles' two-point conversion was equally bad. Van Noy didn't look at the ball at any point, shoved the receiver with two hands to the chest before he had the ball and the ball was in the air, catchable, at the time. Clear PI.

Luckily, neither ended up making any difference.

The Patriots' D was giving up yardage all season, but usually tightened up inside the red zone. Not this time. I agree neither defence acquitted itself well, but that might have more to do with the quality of offences they were facing.
You're right about the PI rules and the inconsistency in which they're called, but I disagree about the kick returns. Sure, a kick-return TD is an exciting play, but it doesn't happen often enough because so many kicks go for touchbacks. As well, it's one of the more dangerous plays in the game, and if the NFL wants to do more than pay lip service to player safety, then simply give the scored-upon team the ball at its own 25. No need for a boring kick into the end zone and the requisite 25 commercials before play restarts. Games would take less time to play and maybe bring back some viewers who have been turned away by how the games drag on at times.
