Is it weird that I kind of want us in Europa just because I think we could win it?

Get 4th, win playoff, hit 3rd in the group stage, cry into the money bags, power through Europa knockout... Trophy?

I know, yeah, we should want to win CL and win the league and blah blah blah... That's not going to happen, realistically, whereas Europa is actually an attainable goal for us.

Champions League. If we don't get the CL we're looking at a downward spiral for many years to come, Wenger will have to go if we don't get top 4 in my opinion.

I think Wenger is coming to the end of his time there mate.

As we've shown its no necessarily a bad thing to change after so long with the same manager.

Do you think he will be moved "upstairs", or the club will let him go?

Unthinkable to cut him off entirely IMO.

Wenger has looked a beaten man for months now, I think the Liverpool and chelsea games really affected him. Wenger has probably past his shelf life by a couple of years now likewise moyes did here.

What about McCarthy in midfield, or Mirallas on the wings or Barkley mate? Or Coleman, Stones or Baines? None of them are on loan you see and your Manager would tell you off if you seen you praising Lukaku or Barry.
Mate, I don't understand why people are irritated about me praising Barry and Lukaku, they are excellent players and the fact that we don't have a similar level striker or holding midfielder is down to Wenger's incompetence, it's as simple as that. Arteta and Giroud wouldn't come close to starting in the Everton team, that's a fact.

I was of the few Arsenal fans who were scoffing at the idea of a league title won by a team with Arteta in the middle and Giroud up front, and I was right. We had no chance with those players, we were carrying them the whole season.

The reason why I'm singling out Barry and Lukaku is because they would get into our first team squad tomorrow if we had them. They were excellent summer signings by Martinez.

I support Arsenal, and if you guys replaced us in this CL, fair play and I would enjoy watching Everton facing the top teams. You guys played excellently this year and even have better players than us in certain positions like striker with Lukaku and defensive midfielders like Barry.

Off the top of my head I can think of Baines, Coleman, Stones, Jags, McCarthy, Barkley would walk into your side mate. Then there's Mirallas who would come in handy for you. Add the 2 loans in who you mention and that's pretty much us being better in every position. Christ, you couldnt go wrong with Naismith warming the bench atm!!

Sorry mate I was being sarcastic and not necessarily having a go at you, I should have worded my post a wee bit better.

Think it was cos you highlighted the 2 loanies mate rather than use the example of McCarthy who has played better than Barry in fact this year and was also brought in during the summer mate

I've no doubt in my mind that Martinez is the Spanish equivalent of Klopp when it comes to management ability and working on a budget. Martinez is quickly busting the myth that you need mega money to make real progress in this league. For too long teams have acted on the wisdom that the best teams need to cost hundreds of millions of pounds. The reality is that with the right mentality and the right group you can give the well financed teams a proper run. Moyes nailed the financial aspect, Martinez has nailed the mentality side of it.

A player is good enough if he's good enough and knows it, not if he cost £40m.

If he does go, it will be on his own terms. The contract is already on the table for him, regardless of what happens the board will want Wenger to stay. But if we don't make top 4 there's a good chance Wenger will feel under pressure to walk away but it will be on his own terms.
