Hopefully like, still think its lot more difficult to first gain and then hold onto for a cl place in England than in Spain or Germany.

Id imagine our points return this year would have us in a cl spot in most the top European leagues.

Exactly this.

In Germany there is one dominant team in Bayern with everyone else with a realistic chance of CL.
In Spain there are 2 dominants teams.
In England there are about 6 teams who spend around £50m-£200m more than us each season chasing 4 places. For us to get in we need to finish above 3 of these teams. Regular CL participation on our budget in England is impossible. Same budget in Spain and we'd be in every year and able to build the club.

I think Newcastle is the level we should be aiming for. They were in the Europa Cup the other year.

Set your sights higher, we need to be a Fulham who reached the final or a Middlesborough who won it

For us to realistically expect to get top 4 we need to spend about £60 million I reckon. Lukaku plus another top quality attacking mid and a striker and a top defensive midfielder. Our defence is probably strong enough with everyone fit.

Our first XI at the minute is a match for anyone but a couple of injuries and its a different story.
