But it's underestimating how shockingly bad Koeman has left this club. £150mill spent and it'll need about that to rebuild.
Again, our position and performances are alarming. The squad is poor. I'm not sold on Dyche (a man who's spent 5 years including relegation to build a club) or that we'd honestly get Tuchel who inherited a very good team at Dortmund.
We have to just hold our hand up and say the club is in crisis from what I've seen on the pitch. And we need someone who can deal with that before we think "long term"
Get solid. Make steps.
Im gobsmacked that 409 people voted Unsworth. Unbelievable
Under no circumstances do I want Allardyce anywhere near this club. But your absolutely right about this group of players. It's been a reoccurring theme for a while, including pre Koeman. The minute things go wrong they down tools. No fight, - for themselves, each other or God forbid the fans. No leadership, no (hate the phrase) game management. Maybe it's the same for all clubs when they hit a downturn, but it happens here far to frequently. The board has changed, managers changed, some players have changed, approaches/philosophy's changed but there's still this comfortable, I'm ok, can't be bothered malaise that appears to hang over the entire squad no matter how the deckchairs are arranged. So there's a nice a job for someone to sort out. Oh, nearly forgot, stop getting beat too.I don’t like the thought of Allardyce on bit but I’m struggling to see who these players will play for. They wouldn’t turn up for Martinez, they wouldn’t play for Koeman, they’re seemingly not performing for Unsworth, we’ve tried a hands off philosophy, authoritarian discipline, and ‘just go and enjoy it lads’. These clowns won’t respond to any of it. If Allardyce needs to tell them using 200 screens which position on the pitch to stand in to mark them all not be so utterly turd then I’m all for it.
Correct. Not true - when word leaked they were in the final parts of negotiation, they went odds-on.
I dont think that its the case that he lacks ambition, but I think you are spot on with your last sentence regarding staying with elstone, etc....dont think he knows much about football and I agree with you on this point.I think he is what he is: a geeky accountant who squirrelled away Usmanov's cash and got a pat on the head for it.
The feller looks clueless in the real world...more especially the football industry.
We needed a big name CEO from the off to get us past the mistakes a man like Moshiri would inevitably make. The fact that he didn't employ one and stayed with the clowns we already had tells you all you need to know about that feller's ambitions.
All that's required is a decent win; something for us to hold onto and build on. And whoever is appointed the players will know it's at least medium term and theres someone they need to impress. We'll get a boost from that and from a new boss picking a consistent team...and also Barkley featuring again.
There's just no need for the nuclear option of Allardyce.
It wont be either. I'm convinced of that.
Heres a list of the people who hired/tried to Allardyce, just think it makes curious reading
Man City - offered Allardyce the job (Lee, Bernstein and Wardle) - it was withdrawn though as the club was sold just before his appointment could be confirmed to Shinawatra
Hired by Newcastle (Sir John Hall) - Mike Ashley took over 16 days later after buying out Hall.
Hired by Blackburn - club was sold to the Venky family 2 years later (club was already up for sale when he took over btw)
West Ham - hired by Gold and Sullivan a year after their takeover - strong rumours they are gonna sell if they can get a buyer
Sunderland - Hired by Ellis Short - club was put up for sale effectively during the same season he was hired.
England - Hired by the FA - who are currently under a lot of scrutiny for corrupt practices
Crystal Palace - Hired by Steve Parish last year and who has recently denied rumours he is trying to sell the club - although evidence mounts he is trying to do so
If Moshiri adds his name to that list - then i think we can all pretty much assume what he is and what his intentions are for this club
Allardyce is hired by owners who are getting ready to sell their club in order to temporarily keep the price up - none of the ones hiring cared about the long term future for the club - but all about protecting short term the share price, West Ham btw where when they hired Allardyce in the negotiation process about obtaining the London Stadium - so short term survival in the league was of paramount importance over any long term strategy
Are you honestly suggesting that keeping a clean sheet for an hour then conceding three can be described as "working"?Unsworth did just that for an hour last night and it worked. It's actually not that difficult, the skill is blending that with having an attacking threat.
Yes they are playing very wellPaolo Fonseca at Shakhtar seems to be an interesting option. They have every chance of getting out of a very difficult UCL group.
We seemed to be linked a while back, and he would be a good deal more realistic than Tuchel.
Nor would they have appointed him lightly based on how revered Mircea Lucescu was there after 12 years.
Who knows how he would do and a risk regardless but at least the unknown element would offer some degree of excitement, unlike what looks to a steady-eddie but dull and grey Sean Dyche.
Don't think he did it on his own...had help from the prev manager, and of course our boardWhen did morals come into it?
Again, we're judging the man and not the results.
Koeman is more of a crook for the basically taking £6mill a year to destroy a football club
