I'd love to see Seamus as a captain. He's passionate, he's captaining his country, he's here for 8 years and his story is inspirational.

Coleman.
He has had to fight to make it as a footballer, remains a grounded individual and is vocal on the pitch.

Cahill had similar attributes and they are becoming rarer for top level sportsmen.

Don't think Barkley needs the pressure at the moment. Would love to see him captain us in a couple of years time though.

Would give it to Coleman I think. Williams if he was a bit younger.

Seamus......international captain experience, always first choice in his position, passionate and, most importantly he isn't afraid to share/show his emotions. Today was a good example....took the ball off Rom and gave it to Baines to slam home. Contributes goals and never stops running. He is a man of conviction....and he has a boss song.

Would like to see it given to somebody who will be around long term, and not just one of the old timers- also someone likely to remain in the first team despite squad improvements. Would say Coleman, but would like to see another RB in time. Other than that, Gueye but not sure whether he has the vocalness (that a word!?) to do it. Rom and Ross definitely not the captain types I'd say. So in conclusion, not sure- someone we're yet to bring in. Last year or two has shown a distinct lack of character in the squad, so I'd suggest that needs to be a major factor in whoever we do bring in.

love baines, but says a lot that even with the armband on today it still took coleman to get the ball off rom for the penalty and make a decision for the team, seamus for me and ot would probably spr him on to up his game and lead by example

I did think Williams with Coleman as Vice Captain but I think now that I'd have it the other way around.
