From 20th at Xmas to 11th,Eddie Howe has done a great job
Still have to spend it properly though. We are an example to the entire footballing world on how NOT to spend moneyAnd all it took was £100m
Amazing turnaround from them in 2022.
If the table started January 1st, they would be in 3rd place with 26 points after 12 games.
Hopefully the only massive jump we see by them under their despotic regime and the PL force through the new rules on owner linked commercial deals that are in the works, needs to be done before the new season starts.

Over £50 million on Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood. Is hardly prudent spending. Guimares looks decent, but other than that they've not spent well.Still have to spend it properly though. We are an example to the entire footballing world on how NOT to spend money
At the moment their success seems to be down to Howe, Trippier is out injured, Wood hasn't scored much, Guimares is decent but will get picked off before long. Lets see what they do in the summer, they still have a long way to go before they reach the catastrophic levels of disaster spending we haveOver £50 million on Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood. Give it time! Trying to break through that ceiling is not easy. Villa are currently spunking money on the same sort of rubbish we did, as are Newcastle. The only way to break the cartel is to bring through young players, you can't short cut your way there. At the moment their success seems to be down to Howe, Trippier is out injured, Wood hasn't scored much, Guimares is decent but will get picked off before long. Well yes and no, it is from the point of when you sign these players, but then you want to offer them good coaching so they can grow into the role. Man City, RS, and Chelsea all have an average age of 27/28 which is anatomically speaking the prime age bracket for a professional sportsperson. However I wouldn't want to sign a bunch of sub 23 year olds and expect them to start shooting us up the league which some posters on here do expect to happen.Give it time! You bring in young players, develop them into great players, sell them for big money, use that money to buy older players who you think will improve your team, maybe at the end of their careers with a couple of years left in them, and invest the rest in young prospects, then rinse and repeat.Well yes and no, it is from the point of when you sign these players, but then you want to offer them good coaching so they can grow into the role. Still waiting for all the benitez cultists who used him (and Potter) in such a negative and derogatory way as if they were the only options and last resorts to take back what they said considering they are both top half.Howe has done a terrific job. Always thought he was ok but nothing more, but might have to reassess my opinion of him
spent it more wisely than we spent £500mAnd all it took was £100m
