I can get the "PL is great" thing. But if their intention is to turn a good profit, they have bought a club in the foothills of the global football pyramid. Sportwashing? Maybe, but £300m out of £380B is 5p to most of us.

Buy low, sell high? Ok, can get that. But I still cant get how the maths work, if they reckon £300m plus say £500m on players, to get a bit closer to the actual elite, works.

Its certainly not to make a profit. Clubs will be invited into the snakes league and they'll be eying that you'd imagine.

A proper proxy war can then ensue when the People's republic buys the People's club off Moshiri and we'll be back wearing red.

I'll be done with football at that stage.

I watch Rugby League just never been into union tbh.

They’ve used a good number of sports now to sport wash controversies, but being allowed into football is the worst of the lot

Their attachment to F1 irks me in a similar manner with the ‘We Race as One’ message about equality but then you have Saudi oil advertising all over and a Saudi track coming in a few months

Wish people took a stance but you ultimately end up dead at their hands
 

Most important thing they will do is sign the right manager. We have see what happens to spending £500m under the wrong ones.

They will be able to spend a few bob for a bit due to their lack of spending in recent years. Lets see how they do, but some bargains to be had post covid.
