New Stadium - Something unique?

If the new stadium goes ahead, one thing KW has talked about is exploring the possibility to add something to the designs to make the stadium more unique.

I think we need something as it stands, the designs are good, but have nothing wow about them. I've said before that I dont like those poles with lights on the top, they remind me too much of candles making the stadium look like a cake!

I'd be interested to hear what you all thought we could add, to make it truly Everton. Ideas?

firstly i'd like to see a specific area for away fans, seperated from all of the home fans - like a strip in one of the unused corners.

in terms of goodison the gwladys is the end that fans look too (i have sat on all four sides btw) its usually where the singing starts.

any new ground will need a 'home end' where the hardcore fans have their seats together and is a focal point for atmosphere.

from the initial design pics it is the featurelessness that i specifically dont like - make one goal end bigger than the other or put another tier onto one goal end. i dislike both goal ends being identical, i dislike both main stands being identical but can forgive this if some character is implemented elsewhere.

What would happen if we were to allocate different number of seats to different away fans though? Woudnt this mean we'd be stuck in allocating only one size.

Also, if the stands were all different sizes dont you think it might have a botched look, kinda how goodison now looks with each stand coming from a different era and different design?

How about having a giant Everton tower off the badge, somewhere on the stadium, of how about one on each corner?

the more i look at our new ground the less i like it. the birthday cake lights are trying to take away from a dull exterior. the is no feature that excites me. it really is dull. i'd like some sort of arch ar something to instantly let people say.. oh yes everton's ground, when they see it on the box. it looks like a bigger version of the new den at millwall. there really is no need for it to be symmetrical. some way to identify to home end would be nice. idealy a larger stand.

Thats very much how I feel about it, its good just nothing overly impressive. It just needs that little something extra.

How about this, blue grass?:P Hey we invented goal nets, shirt numbers, football stadiums, why shouldnt we be allowed to have blue grass?

we invented goal nets and FOOTBALL STADIUMS??? i knew about the shirt numbers.. but the other two???

and different shaped corner flags depending on past glories. don't forget that one.

The stadium is excellent. It has unique elements to it, like the tribute pics of Alan Ball for one. The "Candles" are not that bad. Better than that [Poor language removed] arch at Wembley or the swoop effect that seems to encapsulate the new liverpool design. How long before liverpool get coaches for all areas and have the Sam "Who The [Poor language removed] do I think I am" Allardyce headsets.

Sorry to the American's here. But cmon, its an English sport and its becoming destroyed by American ideas. Although if anyone knows an oil magnate with [Poor language removed] loads of money and nothing to spend it on, just let me know. :)

sorry ghost. don't think the candles are better than an arch over the stadium. but the arch was an example. i'd like something original and cool. the candles just look cheap, nasty and basically crap.

Where we have the tributes to past players on the walls, I would like these to be changed to ever changing images projected onto the walls, showing our full history and images of the past. Like an on going history lesson constantly visible on the outside of the ground. Maybe projected onto the outsides of the corners for us all to watch in awe as we approach the stadium. Simple idea but highly effective in my eyes.

Yeah as far as I'm aware we were the first team to put nets on the goalposts, and Goodison was the worlds first purpose built football stadium.

I was only joking about the blue grass thing, but as we've always been so innovative in the past, it would be nice to do something like that with the stadium, it doesnt have to cost loads, just a good imagination.

actually i have some vague memory of goal nets at goodison being the first. but i had no idea goodison was the worlds first purpose built footy stadium. what was anfield? cricket aswell?

We've always been a progressive club, lets not stop now. Some evertonians choose to live on past glories, but I say lets push the footballing experience on again as we always have done.

How about some sort of roof seating, like some sort of crazily high up specialised seating areas so that you can look down on the football, you could charge executive boxes type prices while having something really unuiqe. More revenue and a new way to watch sports!
