New Stadium question

A new stadium would only be the shout if the stadium was right and we had new owners.
If we bought one now with our current finances and current owners we'd go bust by the end of next season.
No one wants a new Kirkby stadium but a new Kings Dock and we'd nearly all be up for it one imagines.
Problem with Goodison is size, you can't get much more on it, you can go higher but then you'll have massive expenses with strengthening the existing architecture in order to take it etc.
For now I'd stay as we are, when we do improve it should be in a new large stadium, but only when we can afford it. It'll take decades to pay for itself.

I love Goodison, it's a special stadium.

However, all 4 sides of it would need replacing to get the facility to 21st Century standards & give the club a platform for the next generation & beyond. So if all 4 stands end up being replaced, then it won't be Goodison anymore anyway, it'll merely be a new build stadium on the original site.

Given the land locked position with the issues & complications that would bring to the process, then I think a new build on a different site is the sensible route to take.

None of the above... and yet sometimes all of the above.

I'm not ' too ' against ground share...if done right

I'm not aversed to moving... if the site location was ok

I do believe that phased re-development of Goodison is do-able.

Oh and nothing will happen while boys pen billy is in charge

think that covers everything.

So to sum up, confused and still none the wiser

trevor skempton thinks we can rebuild the old lady.
Is the stuff on the keioc website about redeveloping goodison written by him?

Sorry I can't post links to the pages because I haven't made enough posts yet, but if you google for: keep everton in our city keioc redevelop goodison it comes up as the first result. There are also technical drawings on the website.

Has anyone else with any technical knowledge (architects, civil engineers, whoever...) ever analysed these ideas?

Cannot believe people are still talking about re developing Goodison! I can do you a technical drawing of Goodison just like KEIOC. What the pair of us don't have is the money or a plan post Kirkby!!!

Nothing wrong with redeveloping it, I'd take that over moving all day long.
so would 10,s of thousand of other blues mate, even bill gave money to GFE to fight to stay at the old lady.

it can be done, but we havent got a board with any love of the club and the greatest old stadium in the world.

The club has already commissioned architects to look at rebuilding on the Goodison site, it's totally not viable.

Yeah I didn't have any reason to doubt him. I just find it a bit weird that this conversation comes up again and again, and people speculate about what could or couldn't be done, but his plans are never mentioned.

(I also do realise that the main problem here is money)

Redevelop Goodison. I'm sure a way can be found, even if it would cost more. Proper football ground, best in the country, **** the Emirates.

As for groundsharing... The guy who said he wouldn't share a 20 piece McNugget meal with the ****e was right.

GFE???

And yes, Bill hardly shows any passion, I still can't get over the Kings Dock [Poor language removed] up.

Sorry mate I don't believe the clubs take on this.

When he first published those plans the club got someone (their architect?) to criticise them. He answered all their criticisms and then they went quiet.

Also the info I saw from the clubs architect was about building a brand new stadium on the same site, which is a different proposition to what he is suggesting.
