New Stadium question

I would think you could demo each stand and re-build them one at a time over 4 years in the summer between games. But then you'd end up with a "new" stadium on the same site. Is that the same as "staying" at Goodison?

I think we almost got relegated when we tried that last!

Not possible mate. The site is too small.

If you take the Main Stand for example, there's no way a stand like that would get planning permission nowadays. If you wanted to rebuild even to the same capacity you'd need a much higher footprint.

For those who think we should stay at Goodison or thinks about doing up the old lady - this is for you

Love to redevelop Goodison but we just can't, as mentioned by someone above(forgot who) we just couldn't get the planning permission for it, along side losing revenue while stands would be rebuilt. Pisses me off the way the Park End weren't designed to be extended though, a big [Poor language removed] off stand there would be great. Still wouldn't have the character of the Gwladys Street mind.

I love Goodison Park but i'd give anything for a new stadium. If it meant getting a new stadium i'd be open to a ground share, but ideally i'd like our very own stadium.
I would however miss 'Operation Goodison exercise' 'Operation The Nike Arena exercise' just doesn't have the same ring to it!

As i've said before on here, if we leave Goodison, that is the end of going to home games for me
we need to catch up with everyone else.

A ground share would be embarrassing as far as I'm concerned.

60,000 capacity and we'd only fill half of it.

Liverpool have a bigger fanbase so they'd fill it every week, it would give them something to laugh about.
Not if u had a figure 8 staduim 70k for them 50k for us. both share the same hospitality we have our own pitch and own colour.

We would get 30k+ EASY for most games, 50k for the big uns.

IMHO!!!

i agree!!!

anyone who wants to move from Goodison must be mad.

great great old staduim, proper football stadium.

just needs a face lift.

to give it a face lift is a waste of money.

We don't fill the current stadium, why bother extending it?

because we are lagging behind, more seats and more affordable.

Goodison is a proper footy stadion, finnish commentator said something that made me smile

- look at that! Goodison is great english football stadium. It has wonderfull history and it smells like old wall-to-wall carpet! It has unique feeling innit. Supporters sit near the pitch and cause of that atmosphere is one of the best in PL. It is a tight stadium, so tight that wind can barely get in there. x

If we ever get new stadium i would wat that it has somekind of section made out of "old Goodison".

Mid table in a nice refurbished Goodison or league champions in the Wonga Super Dome?

Why couldn't we win the league in a renovated Goodison? We could win it anywhere if the team was good enough and moving to a new stadium wouldn't guarantee that. It would probably work against it, at least in the short term.

It wouldn't feel the same watching Everton anywhere else, there's too many memories for me at Goodison to want to leave. I suppose it's my heart ruling my head.
