New Everton Stadium Discussion

Some lads like the ego trip not the profit
Some lads like blue buildings
Some lads will probably make a couple of billion out of Liverpool Waters if there’s a stadium there to kickstart it
Work it out lad
This.
You don't get to be a Billionaire without liking a profit as one of your core values...but that said, everybody likes a bonus, so number 1 on that list should never be underestimated...
a bit of ego fap, of the - 'Yayaaay I won , I got a billion, ner, ner, na, ner, ner' never hurt anybody.

After you get so much in your bank it may become a bit abstract, a mere tool, then I suspect that the ego might be the whole reason, just to beat the others.

And who don't like a blue building.

Increased his stake in the club and delayed the stadium

Genius

Do you know how long it took Spurs to build their new ground? Google when they first made moves to leave White Hart Lane and you'll be very shocked.

Unfortunately it has been moved back but thats because largely the previous CEO hadnt a clue about how to build a ground and set nothing in place.

Since Elstone left the board have had a complete reshape and we actually have a proper role for a stadium developer. Public consultation has had to be sought as its sadly a controversial project in a city of bitter Kopites and Lib Dems desperate for the project to fail.

Obviously the funding hasnt been fully secured but again its a massive project and im more than happy with a 12 month delay providing the club get things right which im confident they will.

Deadlines have already been set back for the stadium, Brexit will increase the price of delay it further

Liverpool waters will take decades to be completed the earliest estimate was in the 2040's.

Not saying the stadium won't happen but as I said what moshiri had planned when he bought the club and what is happening now will be completely different

A large part of Liverpool Waters will be Kickstarted as soon as the planning permission is granted on BMD, these things are like a domino effect and once certain investments and projects are secured others fall in line.

Funnily enough it would benefit EFC for the rest of Peels project to be delayed for after BMD - if your some filthy rich Arab Prince or Chinese speculator wanting a piece of the cake what better way than to buy a stake in the football club whos stadium is smack bang in the middle of it all.

Your right build a new stadium 500m along with the 300m he has already invested, along with another 300m for transfers to get into the top 4. So that's 1.1bn

Then sell the club for what amount and to who???

Newcastle already have the 52k stadium, the fan base all the need is investment on the pitch and he can't sell it for 300m, but Everton will sell for in excess of 1bn

Do the maths lad

Not having a go at moshiri but the plans he had when he first came would have completely changed with Liverpool missing out on the commonwealth games and the government taking a closer look into usmanovs dealings from now on.
Tiresome now, see if they’ll let you on Redmen TV

I 'kin hope so, if they paced themselves and some how managed to grind it out, imagine the fume.

It's a certainty mate. Klopp is a perennial failure, these reds think the league trophy gets handed over in December. Mourinho will do a job on them next week.

Never argue with an idiot. They will always beat you with experience.

He came when Liverpool were favourites to get the commonwealth games along with that would of come a stadium on the cheap......never happened.

You've been sussed out on here many times so theres no need to go over old ground, but as a matter of absolute fact Liverpool were never 'favourites to get the commonwealth games' In fact the application was a PR exercise because Birmingham were always a shoe in for the games, supported from day one by the London vote, including Seb Coe and his crew.

@havrey0123 take note of wise Steve's words. He's related to Kenwright and knows his onions.

perhaps its his plaything then and making money isn't the foremost objective.

Has spent over 300m in 5 transfer windows to get us into the top 4........hasn't happened.

Has slowed down the progress of the stadium as much as possible.

The Liverpool waters development is being objected every step of the way by UNESCO and English heritage.
The developers have already said it will take 50 years to complete by which time moshiri will be 113.

Work it out lad

He made a £300m gamble on Liverpool winning the commwealth games....

You don't understand rich people do you?

Newcastle being valued at 300m doesn't help you out as much as you think.

They're 140m in debt and with their clueless manager they're likely to go down again. Rafas second relegation in 2.2 years could be catastrophic for them given their astronomical wage bill.

So higher debt, worse stadium, worse players, probably relegation and still looking for 300m.

Everton with the best stadium in world football, the 4th grace right next to the newly blue Liver Building, best train I g facilities in the country, international players from 1-11, champions league football....£1bn seems a bargain.
