The only African defender I remember in the youth team was Nsila? (Sp).

The others made a first team or at least a Europa league dead rubber appearance iirc.

I have found 14 (there may be more) internationals who were - at one time - on our books but who never made a senior appearance - How many can you name?

Clues: England (1), Wales (1), Northern Ireland (1), Republic of Ireland (3), Scotland (1)
Australia (1), Other Asian nations (2), USA (1), African Nations (2)

Several (at least 3) sat on the bench but did not play. Quite a few were goalkeepers. One or two are fairly easy the rest not so much. 10 are in the recent past (i.e. last 30 or so years) - the other 4 somewhat further back.

Jennings, yes. Coyle (apparently not), Mullan (one more to add to the list, didn't know he was on our books), Peyton - yes. Murray I recall now but he didn't play international football.
