New Nuclear Technology Virus

The frightening thing about this article on a conjectured israeli virus isn't that these viruses lie dormant on nuclear computers. Its that nuclear computers run ******* windows.

Jesus, find a safer platform than that. An apple mac, a feckin spectrum.

And before I start a mac vs pc thing, let me say that all computers are [Poor language removed], I aint gonna argue one over the other except when it comes to viruses and malware. The argument that because PC's run 90% of the worlds computer so therefore they get the majority of the attention from hackers is bogus as well. Not one significant virus in fifteen years of mac's. Surely someone out there is trying. Of course they are, the system is inherently stronger against malware.

Hope the nuclear missiles aren't sitting on a computer running vista.

Scary stuff. Not surprised about factories and stuff running windows but Nuclear companies? Really?

I finally got rid of Windows a few days ago. A lovely deb distro of Linux is now running my laptop smoother and quicker than you can shake a ripe tomato at. It is ace.

Iran is not the only country to suffer, the USA has also. The virus attacks the Siemens software. It is believed it got into Iran courtesy of Russian laptops who are helping Iran with their nuclear programme.

They reckon (according to the article) that it would take governmental level resources and a group of dedicated hackers to produce this virus.

I reckon its some lone disgruntled computer genius who got sacked from Siemens for looking at pics of ladyboys in his lunch break.

I hate to quote myself here, but there would be a certain twisted irony, that after all this media build up, and thirty years of the cold war, that the global nuclear holocaust wasn't precipitated by political crisis, didn't come about as part of a centuries old clash of cultures, wasn't the result of religious xenophobia or terrorism, or the warmongering of super powers - but because some nerd in a siemens cubicle in Germany couldn't jack off to "Filipina Chicks with Dicks #3" on his lunch break.

Of course. but then whats the point of having the nuclear codes and your finger on the button if you cant precipitate a nuclear conflict over wifi using your iphone.
