It's being of independent mind and being capable of putting together an argument that's confusing you, perhaps you consider this as "uptight".

To my mind ironically mentioning the number and identity of mods is a bit of laugh, subjective of course, like people mentioning "toast", that leaves me cold (d'ya gettit? - cold toast, hilarious!!) but others think it's Tommy Cooper at his best.

So why do you get uptight about it?

Why comment on a harmless irony and refer in a personal manner to someone you know nothing about?
