Didn't David Wagner go straight from coaching Dortmund reserve team to Huddersfield as well?

The reserve teams in Germany play in the actual league structure though, so I think it's probably more of a logical step going from there to a team like Huddersfield. Daniel Farke has done the same step, gone from BVB II to a Championship team.

David Wagner actually got BVB II team relegated! They where playing in the 3rd tier of German football, but now are in the regional league.

Cheers mate, thanks for the explanation.

Managerial success is such a random event that I reckon a green-horn with talent has as much chance as a celebrity.

Loads of examples abound including that fraud Eriksen at England as well as Capello and over the years various foreign managers at Spurs, WHU, Villa, etc.

My vote is for David Unsworth. He deserves promotion and he might just recognize that buying four no.10's and not a winger or a centre-forward is not the best of tactics.

Everton only win stuff with an ex player in charge.
Unsy got to be next.

I jib off Ferguson now as well. Love the fella, but i just can't see him teaching Sandro much ?

with Unsy - no wonder Sheeds did the bunk!
I would have had joe -Dunc- Unsy - and Sheedy all in that managerial team - they know how football has to be played!
The under 23 side against spurs started to come under loads of pressure.
Unsy takes off a defender a holding midfielder and brings on two attackers.
Knowing full well the only way of not getting battered was to take the game to them.
We go on and win convincingly.

How refreshing.

Without looking through the thread, I am willing to bet the Huddersfield manager will have been mentioned. Eddie Howe won't have been mentioned as Bournemouth are doing badly.

Remember the days of Owen Coyle shouts?

The one thing about these types of threads is that they are so predictable.

Hmmmm, ex player hey...? Bit like Kendall, former blues midfielder. But who fits that criteria?
