New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I've seen enough to know that with a proper decorative fit-out, both the concourses and the stadium itself will be absolutely magnificent.
I don't doubt for one minute that that WILL happen. Loads of people have (rightly) criticised how 'industrial' it looks on the concourses with vast expanses of plain concrete walls. To me, it was similar to going to view a brand new house.
It's absolutely fantastic but still looks a bit sterile. As with any 'new build' you need to stamp your own personality on it to make it truly a home.
Imagine it when its fully furnished. I would be amazed if every single wall isn't adorned with Everton branding, photos of former players etc.

President of Gulf States Toyota just joined the board… could be another hint at the stadium sponsor.
Toyota is easy, im not sure I want the easy route.

Clever businessmen avoid spending their "own" money as much as possible.

I realise its a PSR scam and would help us massively, but my hope is we dont take the easy route and go for the clever route.

The more external money we attract, the more we avoid another Ukraine War.

Matter of time isn't it.

You know how in the F1 the drivers get a cap emblazoned with whichever sponsor has paid most, and there's all sorts of spite* for the tv interviews with the top flight tennis after match thing. Well, we've got the back board for the football, but how long before a cap and a branded bottle of cola and a line of dialogue... "it was a game of two halves, the best team won, we had to roll our sleeves up, and feckface cola is ever so refreshing".

They'll be retrofitting the works of Shakespeare and Rembrandt paintings at this rate.

"To be or no to be, whilst I tied the laces on my gucci shoes..."

I understand your logic.

For me, it all comes down to numbers.

I think it’s important, too, to make the distinction that TFG isn’t Toyota, they’re essentially a franchisee.

If the money came from Gulf States Toyota, then you’d be 100% right that it’s the easy option.

But if the Friedkins are able to use their pull with Toyota themselves to get us a good deal, then I think that’s also pretty smart. Particularly if it’s more than market value.

Yeah for sure.

I think yesterday demonstrated that there are loads of ways forward and room for progress with the right commercially minded people at the top - not charity workers pretending to be CEO.

However, the one slight niggle I had yesterday was that on a few occasions, I asked stewards inside the ground where to find something and the response was "I've no idea, I am as lost as you are".

To some extent, I understand its new and everybody will get better. However, you would think the club would have trained stewards on where things are because its an essential part of their job.
 "Search me lad, I only work here".

FFS.
