New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Wind gusts were down to about 20 mph at the time. Just about enough to part your hair. In that location that's about as good as it'll get for 90% of the time in the autumn and winter.

They're using any excuse to stop people getting on that western wharf.

It's a huge fruit machine rather than a community asset when fas can only ever get to see two sides of that stadium on non-match days...three at best on match days.

All the promo videos and photos of fans lounging round and sitting on those west stand steps were bogus.
Morning happy chops....

So what if they did?

So what if they did?

Erm...it'd be a bit if a fib like...

I cant believe you're asking if it isn't ok for the stadium to be shut off from fans.

This cant last. No club should be keeping out their own fans from that side of the stadium...ANY side of the stadium. After all it is the FANS stadium because they'll pay for it.

The ruthless policing of this stadium so far for me has been the biggest turn off. That situation cant stand. It cant be allowed to stand. It's just not on for commercial forces to keep the cultural asset of a whole community partially off limits to them. It'd be like the City of Rome telling people they can only walk round half the perimeter of the Coliseum. And if this 'kin lot are wanting tourists to that site in the future off cruises etc they'll have to jump to it and sort this affront out.

Was the implication the match would have been called off if it was the day before?

Seen this shared a few times, people look for the extreme an share it. They did it with StubHub when there was a few for daft prices - "LOOK THERE'S A TICKET FOR £500", but didn't make a peep about the tickets for most games you could pickup for £5-10.

I can understand that package - there's stuff like meeting players, multiple 4 course meals etc, and there's only 4 of them.

The issue for the Derby with Seat Unique in my opinion is none of them on your screenshot - I expect it nowadays, high end hospitality/experiences - the issue for me is the £499 for a standard "premium" ticket. This one;

They'd have hated doing that. Imagine the impact on the stadium's status if every other PL match went ahead in those conditions - which they did - and ours was the only game postponed. Question marks would hang over it not just for football but other events in and around it.

I think the reason i shared is it more that thats it an acceptance of "where we are now", brand new stadium corporate branding all over the place, 6 quid donuts all that jazz, £5k for a derby ticket is buttons to a corp looking to seal a deal in front of their favorite team(?) i've been to Yankee stadium, Pittsburgh Pens corp entertainment and City's ground, not a single 'fan' in sight, all suits pretending to know whats happening, because that's the world they live in, the ground is just a background to the real business going on, that match day experience is just ambience now.

I thought it was the lack of toilets...........................
And the name
And the roof
And the lighting
And the prices of food
And the tkt prices

The list goes on and on and on

Make ya mind up 🙈🤣

Were there the same question marks when the Goodison derby was postponed last season, while every other PL game that day went ahead?

Conditions vary by location

I think wd can all agree that Everton at Goodison picked and choose the games the club would fight to get on or not...as the league table dictated.

This would have been a different matter.

The coming autumn and winter will be VERY interesting seeing the struggle between commercial considerations and safety concerns at that new stadium.

This youtuber recently posted a video about football hospitality and visited Arsenal's stadium and paid £372.47 for a ticket which basically got him a £10.00 museum tour, £5.00 club shop voucher, £4.00 programme, 4 free drinks, 1 item of food and a nice view of the game.
