New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

It’s an opportunity to expand out world class waterfront and show a future focussed city. It needs to compliment what’s there and be unique and of the city though.

Yeah you've got a stadium which looks futuristic, which was put next to a sewage works as I doubt anyone else would want to build there.

Not sure if it's LCC or LCR who are holding us back.

They could pull their fingers out & make the economic case so attractive that it draws in investment. Hopefully the Friedkins crack on at our end regardless

I don't see how affordable housing in a prime area that could be so much more is the right choice.
The plans do include housing (no mention of affordable, though no doubt some will be). But it apparently also includes office space, bars, restaurants, and a public park.

They will be doing these because its the easiest route through planning to make them money. But like with the stadium, if someone really wants to develop something there then Peel may well be amenable to making a deal over the land.

Ultimately, someone would need to come along and convince them its worth the investment. I would imagine the council will just be happy the land is being developed.

Somewhere in this monster thread there was a link to an article about Chong talking about our ambition for Nelson Dock. From memory (not as reliable as it once was) it was being positioned as a Sports Village including Everton and sport themed bars/restaurants as well as residential and commercial. I seem to remember a graphic with a multi use ‘sport/music’ platform in the dock connected to the land by a bridge/bridges.

As others have said it all depends on the quality. Development so far across the Liverpool waterfront has been ‘mixed’ at best. I’d hope that if we can acquire Nelson Dock we see the value in quality development with some architectural merit to add to, not detract from, HDS.

Not sure if this is it but it covers a lot of those ideas.

And this one, too:
