New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Watching the stream from yesterday's game earlier and one thing that struck me, aside from how new and shiny the stadium looks, is how the camera position makes the ground look dull. At Goodison, you could see the dugout, the manager, the players, the tiers. Nothing really at the Hill Dick.

I know it's early days, but if the camera stays where it did for the highlights, there needs to be a feature to make it recognisable.

Don't think it will.
Only need people to start going off on the ref for a bad decision and it will spark into life.
Never any atmosphere at friendly games .
Think it will be really loud once it gets going .
Don't know what people were expecting really 🤷‍♂️ When has there ever been a pre season friendly with great atmosphere?
50,000 attending for a pre season friendly should be enough to tell people that at least 75% of them were there just to see the ground NOT the match.
This will also have contributed to any crowding problems on the concourses, as thousands were just wandering about and trying to see as much as possible of the stadium / try out the food and bars etc.
As others have pointed out, the Roma fans were obviously making a day of it and the noise that a few hundred of them made was enough to show what it's going to sound like when a bad tackle / bad Ref decision unleashes the fury of 50,000 Evertonians.

I haven't read any previous comments but I was less than impressed about the organisation on the upper north concorses yesterday. I went to the 2nd test event on the lower north with half the capacity and everything was fine, but yesterday was a farce.

Trying to get a drink at halftime was a mess. There were about 3 or 4 roughly assembled lines of people about 30ft long trying to get served from that auto through bar where you scan your debit card, walk in, pick up your drink and food and walk out. There are toilets next to this bar and you had people trying to get to and from the toilets pushing and shoving through the lines of people.

It took me a good 20+ minutes get pick up a drink. The 2nd half had started. By the time I'd finished my drink and food there was about 30 minutes of the match left.

I ended up not returning to my seat and leaving to get the early soccerbus. I've never left a game early in 40+ years going to watch Everton.

I could hear a lot of people complaining so I know it wasn't just me.

I know it was a test event but there was no excuse for that yesterday.

Seen a few comments like this from the usual suspects, that the new ground wont have the atmosphere of Goodison so therefore we'll do worse.
I mean, we haven't even played a proper competitive game there yet, but what do they care about facts? The narrative has already been set. Expect more nonsense like this going forward.

Cascarino's a clueless biff.

Brilliant those mate. Brochure quality snapping there.
