New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Why would they incur the cost of stitching the synthetic fibres for a pitch that will barely be used?
I was going to say exactly this. Would they have got those machines in to weave in the synthetic fibres for three test events? I have serious doubts about that. More likely is they just haven’t been happy with the results and have decided to rip it up and start again which is absolutely fine.

Another point, if they haven’t been happy with the results of the seeding/weaving combo, would they go down the same route again? They’re used the term, “relaying”, is that still a term for seeding? Or is it as it sounds, and they’ll go a different route and lay rolls of turf? If they haven’t been happy with the results this time around, not sure why they’d do exactly the same again. Let’s not forget the foundations aren’t the same as you’ll find in other stadia.

I could of course be wrong and this was the plan all along! But if that’s the case it doesn’t make a lot of sense R.E the synthetic weaving for three test events.

I don’t know about directly but it’s been reported quite widely that the club have stated it.

Found this from Patrick Boyland:

The pitch that was laid for Monday’s game is only temporary and will be replaced at the end of the season. The broadcast setup for the live YouTube stream of Monday’s game, viewed by 330,000 people at the time of writing, is still being refined.

Just amazed they stitched it and then will need to start again. Something must have gone wrong.

In the email my lad received, explaining that he wasn’t getting an ST this time around, there was some comment about the possible release of more STs in April once the ‘make sure you’ve bought your ticket by 31 March’ message given to existing and new ST people date had passed. I’ll see if I can find the exact wording, as my lad sent me a copy of his email.
My Grandson was sent the same Email.

Said there was a chance other tickets could be made available after March 31st.

I have no idea what a pitch slowing growing over a couple of months should look like, but it did seem to be a little patchy at the edges to my uneducated eye. It can’t have been good that they were re-stitching a couple week or two back, either?

Presumably growing a pitch in spring / summer will be an altogether simpler proposition…

As I said, it’s possible that they always intended to relay it and were effectively ‘practicing’ to see what the growth was like etc, and yes also possible that (having not had the chance to do that) they’ve found it hasn’t worked how they hoped and so have had to start again.

I'd imagine it would be easier to grow, that said it should also be easier to patch. The stitching machine went right down into those cups within those trays, that is going to be a right pain to clear out and start again.

That’s news to me! When did they hint that?
In the email my lad received on 17th December last year explaining that he was not eligible for a ST, that email concluded by saying this:

‘Once the 31 March deadline has passed, the Club may be in a position to make a limited number of Season Tickets available to more supporters in Tier 1 of the waiting list. This will depend on factors including the renewal rate of existing Season Tickets Members and uptake from those supporters higher on the waiting list.

If you become eligible to purchase a 2025/26 Season Ticket during this period, we will contact you directly with more information about deadlines and payment options. If not, we will inform you of your updated waiting list band so you can understand your new position in the queue for future campaigns’.

I wasn’t paying much attention to the surface the other night, but I don’t think it cut up particularly did it?

To be quite honest, I wasn’t paying much attention to the football, either. How was the ball moving?

I’m in the 3500 to 4000 tranche, so no luck this year. I’m hoping I will get in next year, my lad is 4500-5000. I’ve actually been on the waiting list since 2019! But the new membership rule has proper skewed it for me. Hopefully it’s easier to get standard tickets next year….
I joined the waiting list myself in 2019, ironically I gave my season ticket up in the same season. I refused to get the membership at the time , never realised it would come back to bite me.

My mate got our season tickets this morning in the West Stand and has just realised it’s part of the family section 😬

Will Everton cancel them or is it best try to and get in contact with them, however long it might take?
Me and my arl fella tried to move a few hours after getting ours (we qualified on the first day) the section we were originally trying for appeared like it was sold out, then as soon as we changed to somewhere else and purchased the block we originally wanted was available again. Phoned the club but they refused to change us and said we’d have to try after the first full season if still wanted to move.. not sure if your situation would be different because you are in family section but I wouldn’t hold my breath! Fingers crossed you can sort it anyway 🤞🏻
