New Everton Stadium Discussion

Somebody will find a use for it - just nature abhors a vacuum, space always gets filled...how many people who moved in to a house with a garage can actually get their car in it now?

Even, if they just let you go up there with your pint to create more space for people on the concourse, that would be something.

Think we should drop the Juventus shouts personally and don’t think it should be a premier league team.

Bayern would is a great shout out as they’re for playing us in our greatest ever goodison game.

It's all down to expense. More floors adds more structure and more vertical transport (as they like to call stairs, lifts, escalators). Even Spurs big home end only has 2 floors of concourses. They tend to save the multi-floor concourses for the higher paying pundits. It's shame for all the reasons expressed, but it will also be a long walk for those on the rear rows wanting to go the toilets after their prematch sesh.

Similar for the increased tkt prices. There are only approx 450 box seats at BMD and 4500 mainly corporate lite total to help cross subsidise the GA seats, in a stadium that has cost roughly £15,000 per seat to build. There are over 2k box seats at the Emirates and almost double the corporate.... without a sugar daddy, the ROI can be staggering for any large new build and usually requires the corporate sections to do some seriously heavy lifting....

Is the box figure for emirates correct after they got rid of the bottom tier to make a more special corporate area?

Anybody know at what stage the Everton Way stones are being installed? Figured it can't be too far off seeing as the outside is likely to be finished before the inside and it's less than a year away from completion.

I think Arsenal have reconfigured their boxes a couple of times to suit changes in demand since it was built. I think there were just over 150 boxes to start with. Think this dropped to 146, then again to just under 130, when they enlarged a few into super boxes/suites. Whichever way you look at it, there are far more high-end corporate at the Emirates and NWHL.

TBF, they're in London where the demand for these provisions is far higher. The majority of our Corporate targets will have seats at City, United or Liverpool. Everton's corporate hospitality services have won national awards, yet there are plenty of games where the boxes are empty, or just utilised for players families.
Its all well and good building thousands of high end corporate facilities, but you need people to buy them consistently.

Exactly, which is a big part of why they are the only 2 completely newbuild 50k+ stadia in the country. That said, there are many medium sized stadia in the provinces with far more boxes than BMD. Villa have over 100 boxes too, and several other 30k stadia have approx 40boxes.

Do we know anything of the prices charged for those boxes at Villa? I have to admit that I have no idea at all how our prices stack up to other offerings at other clubs. For example, their 100 boxes may only make half that value of our corporate facilities, but we're much more inclusive as to who can afford to access it.

Yeah I know 100% do as they have the London factor and rich business's and people.

I’m sure they got rid of all the boxes on the lower tiers as people prefer more social surroundings, but yeah the point is right they still have far more.

Do wonder though if we could have had more seeing as all the high end at BMD sold out immediately.

Everton took advice from Liverpool, Arsenal, City and Spurs regarding boxes. All said that the revenue for that type of match day experience was declining because

a) guests weren't getting the same match day experience with 10 people in a box as opposed to a wider space with groups of people
b) clients didn't want to be dressing full suit and tie to go and sit in a box, they wanted a more relaxed atmosphere.

Spot on Sam. Boxes are good for companies for a bunch of employees who know each other, but in some cases it results in sharing a small buffet in an enclosed space with people you’ve never met before.
