I have zero knowledge about where this roma project was based on landwise, but I imaigne a considerable amount of ours is going towards the extra factors of dock filling etc.

Correct me if I am wrong but what clubs in top 2 divs have bulit a stadium from scratch in the last 20 years?

Love those buildings, shame they are no longer standing. Would be awesome to have a strip of bars and restaurants in those.

If they were still standing they would no doubt have 'protected' status and the cost of preserving them would be prohibitive.

Absolutely. That would have been ace. I'm guessing they were bombed during the war? Hate to think there was any other reason they were demolished.

Leicester, Coventry, Sunderland, MK, Derby, Brentford, Southampton, and many others have built cheap flat-pack stadiums in the past 20 years. Arsenal’s wasn’t a straightforward build. Not a very accessible site and had to dig down to lower the height.

They also had to build a waste recycling centre to replace the one they knocked down
