New Everton Stadium Discussion

It feels like a sacking.

I hope this is not an indication of a serious delay or downgrading of quality of the new ground - finances are perilous in the game at the moment.

The fella is beyond unprofessional, a quick look through his Twitter shows him liking some porn birds or whatever and their tweets and it’s not exactly hidden.

It’s nice to be connected to a fan base you’re working with, but there’s got to be a line and he crossed it.

Happy with the stadium design it’s a work of beauty, but let’s not kid ourselves he’s a bit of a biff.

Why does it point toward the club going down the cheap route? Are you aware of the tender scoring documents?

Do you know whether Laing have been appointed on a Design and Build basis or as Construction Managers? You hint at having a lot more knowledge of what’s actually going than you are prepared/allowed to let on but it may just be your experience of the industry that’s coming across. Key differences between the two which would have a bearing on peoples concerns with regard to design (especially with Meis leaving stage left) and cost.

PCSA at the moment.

He was appointed to do a job, he did that specific job and (I assume) was well compensated for that work.

If he was led to believe the scope would extend, but then a change of heart was had, so what?

He's not lost anything apart from what he craves the most, the spotlight on him and hoards of Evertonians kissing his arse on twitter.

His sulky behaviour over the past few days should be a red flag to any other major project before they appoint him.

The tit.

I doubt it was Everton going we need a 60+ thousand seater and Meis blocked it saying that we only need a low 50's one. He was just playing with what hand he was dealt.

I agree that the general look of the stadium will remain the same, however you can still give the outline with none of the detail or a cheaper interpretation of the detail. That's usually the difference between a world class stadium and just a decent one.

Yes I mean I don't know anything about the new architects who we are all presuming are money saving people. It may be they are just better qualified and bigger than Meis's operation, or have more experience of this phase.

However yes, if costs were to start to rise (which in truth given we are heading for a prolonged recession is very unlikely) but if they were, some of the "mod cons" may be downgraded.
