Carlo has come and gone but his appointment  did break  one glass ceiling  i.e that a club like  Everton  could  not appoint  an elite  manager.
Losing a manager to Real Madrid is not exactly something to be ashamed of.
He needs to go back to club management and prove himself there.
At the end of his time at Everton he had seriously lost his way and I think that he simply did not get some of the basics right with the team... in particular he really was not good enough at getting a proper defensive structure in place.
There is no reason why he could not learn or be a far better manager now.
