New COVID Restrictions

So business as usual then.

Go for the easy targets, to try and deflect from your own misdeeds.

I was in North Wales a couple of weekends ago, where the table service thing is supposed to be mandatory.

Not one place I went into was abiding by it.

It`s a farce.

I was in Edinburgh last weekend and in fairness they took everything pretty seriously up there. Masks walking in/out of bars/cafes/restaurants/shops. Public transport the works, even the outdoor Christmas markets ppl wearing masks - although don't know if they were locals or tourists.

Hmmm, if it is table service, it's interesting that it's not in the leak. Obviously the one which requires the biggest change

Im rather surprised at some of the reluctance to allow continued WFH.
I have to speak to someone next week who is going to tell me how they have made the office covid secure. My house is very covid secure!!

Speaking for myself - The reluctance comes from the creeping loneliness that occurs when you live alone and spend massive amounts of time staring at the same four walls with zero human interaction

Plus that fact that rapidly rising energy bills are almost making in unaffordable to sit in your own property for any extended period of time - especially in freezing cold winter conditions

I didn't mind table service until it went and then I realised how much I enjoy standing at the bar chatting

Aw mate it was dreadful in some places. Not the staff's fault but so many places would take forever to get a drink. Not to mention getting told off like a child for standing up around the table was mental.

It'll be back to booking bars again, with nobody sitting outside in this weather everywhere will be rammed.

I still see my mates etc at the weekend

I we to the office for our Christmas lunch for the first time and my return train got cancelled. Cba with it all

Obv I can see the other side though.

Good point.
I was thinking more of the employers driving a return to the workplace which is ,imho, a bit early.
But i full accept that the social interaction in the workplace is very valuable to us all.

Same here mate.

I worked from home for three and a half years and the Winters used to crush me, as did the fuel bills.
