I agree, we all know Hibberts plus's and minus's but overall he's a handy lad to have, just not as first choice,

Ozzie's a good footballer, again we know he's no world beater but will play right across midfield, and appears to do so uncomplainingly, good un

I agree both of them is still needed!

Until we have a replacement in place for Hibbert we couldn't let him go, but he is not a bad player to have around to back-up incase of injure!

Osman, he is better than most people think, he has a bit of pace, ball control is good and could score from outside the box, only problem with him is his height, other area could be improve through training but height can't!

No problem with it whatsoever.

We always heard people moaning in the past about squad depth and now the manager is doing something about it.

Good on Moyes and Kenwright for this.

I have a problem with it.....Where is Lescott's new contract and why is Hibbo getting one before him.

Probably because Hibbo's been a servant at the club much longer than Lescott.

That said, I wouldn't read anything into it.

They'll take care of Lescott just the same.

Lescott is only entering his 2nd season, we dont want a steve gerrard situation where he gets a new contract every time he plays well/threatens to leave after a poor performance;)

what was it said the 'corn chute' effect where the money in equates to money out in wages

(or something to that effect)

I might have missed a point here somewhere, but I dont get the logic in some of the last posts - if you sign someone on a longer contract, you can command a fee for them when they are not needed anymore.

Would anyone have actually wanted Hibbert to go on a free in January? seriously?

Compared to a paltry 500k or something which was probably his sign on fee then yes I would as I can't see Hibbo fetching more then that figure.

Osman I agree with him having a new contract but not hibbo.

Personally I think he's earn't it with goal line clearances alone.

I dont think we'll be looking to ship him out until next season at the earliest the most optimistic scenario being that Hoyte or someone turns up and makes an immediate impact.

guess it depends on where people see Neville and Jagielka playing - I reckon Jags will be more used at centre back than right back.
