New car

New year coming up and I think it’s time for a new car. My current car is years old and will be getting scrapped I think.

Been a while since I bought a car, just wondering what people think is the best way to buy a car these days. PCP, lease or HP.

I’m not one to want to change my car every couple of years so quite happy to keep it a while. However Iv been told nobody buys cars that way anymore and it’s more down the PCP route.

Has anyone bought a car recently and can offer any advice on the best way to go? Looking at around £350-£400 a month.

Also been a while since I was in a dealership. Always find the car sales people are looking to find them best deal for them as opposed the customer. Any tips with this would be most welcome.

Hiya pal, I had to make a similar decision in November. I had been looking on and off since the summer.
I am at an age when I want to treat myself to a brand new car for probably the last time in my life. I did have a red Toyota Celica which has done me proud for 16 years, hardly ever a problem and very reliable. But I was fed up of red!
So I got a deal with for a brand new GT86 which was reduced by 6K for quick sale before the November lockdown. It worked out with a sizable deposit, I got an HP deal for 300 a month. Then at the last minute my mum stepped in and lent me finance and pay her back 300 a month instead! Car was registered Sept 2020 and I have only done about 150 miles as I am still driving the Celica at the moment! Promised the Celica to a mate this week, but Boris has put the break on it. The Celica has an ace Garmin sound system/sat nav that is worth more than the car! Each to their own, but I find the cars very reliable and I am lucky to have really good and honest local mechanics for repairs and service.
