Doesnt organize, doesn't give out orders, doesnt get into the ref, just plots along in his own little world head down, Could you ever imagine the likes of terry or vidic being like that, ffs even when you see Osman wearing the armband he does all of the above, hes 10x the leader that jags is
He's a shambles of a captain. He was a half decent CB once, not now. He has zero redeeming features and him and his mate Distin are killing us. week in, week out.

Its a mix. Plenty of tussles in the box with our defenders and the opposition players. Its when the defenders just let players go, like tonight. We also tend to have 11 players back.

It also needs someone attacking the ball in a zonal system. No one does that.

It also needs a voice to organise. Keep players on their toes.

None of that happens. The players need to sort it.

They've been under Moyes for that long, they should know how to just go back to basics on the pitch.

That point is my entire argument about RM this season, hes coached that out of them. No leadr in the box and nobody on the posts, zonal marking and marking space rather than players. Space doesn;t score goals.

I can accpet that defenders loose the pace and make mistakes like that. They do not loose the ability to defend the basics (i.e. corners) overnight, unless its a clear direction not to implement it.

They've been appalling marking from corners and free kicks for the past three seasons. Just shocking. It's always been a standing joke, so no good you saying it's a recent phenomenon. It's worse now because the two duffers at the heart of the defence are that much older and that much worse...and if you add in the likelihood of them not giving a shiny one then you get the type of clueless and gutless displays they've been largely responsible for.

"It's all about zonal marking" blah blah blah.

It's much more prosaic than that, and you know it.

83.3% yes. He is no captain for me, anyone see the interview then...
Didn't see any fight, leadership in him and couldn't even look the interviewer in the eyes. Sort it out ffs.
To be fair to him he doesn't look at the camara ever when he's interviewed but I agree the job needs to go to someone else but can't see who myself maybe Howard

I'd have Besic and Stones starting against City and then keep faith with them for WBA if they look like a pair.

Distin and Jagielka are a relic now. They need to get their stuff together asap and sling their hooks.
I like Besic but he's never going to be a CB in the premiership.

Total rubbish, they've never looked that weak as they've done recently

Spout the usual rubbish mate, you'll convince yourself soon

So it takes 1 season to be out coach how many years under Moyes? Not for me.

And, lets agree with your point, how spineless the players are at being physical with the players?

Liverpool are a big zonal marking team. But you'll be hard pressed not to find Lovren or Skertle ripping the shirts off the backs of players.

We don't even do that. And that to me is basics that the players aren't doing. And you can't coach out that . that's instinct.

There's no responsibility taken.

A captain should be constantly talking, getting in to the ref, getting both players and crowd up for it. For as crap a player as Neville was he was a solid captain. Now compare Jags to the likes of Adams, Terry, Vidic - other CB captains. Not even a comparison.

I would give it to nobody and tell them to go out there and show him who the leader is.

Well we only have one CB now, he's done a bang on job in another league, so I dont see any problem in giving him the start there. What do we have to lose?
We would lose our best CM (after McCarthy who has hardly played). He doesn't win many headers, up against dzeko he'd get humiliated.
