Player Valuation: £950k
Apparently Swansea (according to Wiki) have confirmed that Newcastle have met a £1m clause to sign Neil Taylor, a left sided defender. The S*n says Everton have joined the race and matched the bid.

He has been capped at Wales U-17, U-19 and has even played a handful of times for the senior Wales team. He is 22.

Not sure if this has anything in it, but thought it was worth posting as I haven't seen it mentioned yet.

Iwould not believe the current bun wait for little curly mr ball he i believe

I don't know much about him but Swansea did have an excellent defence last year in the champ. So excellent they of course, got promoted + finished 3rd. I think it was the 2nd best in the league, but don't quote me on that.

Hope it is true. Cheap but good cover for Baines should be exactly what we're looking for.

Having said that he must know he has a better chance of starting games if he doesn't come here.

impressed me when I've watched Swansea, he's a player that doesn't make many mistakes and he's young, definitely worth signing as back-up to Baines, but this is a sun rumour an LCAB hasn't mentioned anything.

Nothing against this lad in particular and I agree about needing left cover, but is he £1m better than Bidwell and Garbutt? If not, I would rather that money went towards more important areas of the team that need strengthening. It will be argued that Bidwell and Garbutt are not ready - but we if they had to be thrown in at any stage they be alongside 3 other experienced top flight players across the rest of the back four who could help them out.

I'd agree with this. Both Garbutt & Bidwell will be entering their third year of professional football this summer. You'd hope one of them is given a chance to step up.

Yeah I agree with this, if we give them time in pre-season, then make their debut in the league cup, they could shine.

We also signed Orenuga recently who apparently could play the left side. Though he was very young. Don't know much about him but he played as a 15 year old for Southend. Is that even legal? At the time I read he played left defence or left midfield and immediately creatd him on Football Manager, bumped up his stats and turned him into a future world-beater.

I reckon he would be an useful sining to provide cover for baines, for a fairly cheap ammount.Garbbut/Bidwell havent yet made the bench, exept for Bidwell's only appereance in the Europa league, so I wouldnt like to throw them into the first team if Baines got injured, whereas Taylor would have the experience to step in.

My football manager knowledge usually allows me to know these sort of players, never heard of him before though. By the looks of it though it's young cheap signing to cover Baines providing it's got any truth in it.

I thought i would of new him for the same reason but never heard of the lad. Hopefully if he signs he can be another of Moyes's gems.
