I think until this moment most fans wouldn’t haven known of this specific stipulation or what constitutes as a working day. But for the club?

We can whinge and whine all we like, yet ultimately you’d expect someone within the club to have known how the process actually works.

Really, if he’d have been registered for Saturday, we wouldn’t be in this situation now.

Spot on. You’d expect it to be one of the things the club officials make it their business to know during the window. There’s a month of crossover of the window and the season, and precisely one bank holiday in that time. We couldn’t have Evertoned this any more.

Disagree (with the first part). It’s a silly rule. Of course it’s “our fault” but it is ridiculous particularly considering some teams play Wednesday due to the TV schedule.

The fact that we are playing tonight, not tomorrow, should have seen us all over this particular rule. You can’t tell me we couldn’t have got this done 4 hours sooner if we really wanted to make sure.
