2025/26 Nathan Patterson

Started in a slapstick manner and I feared the worst for him and us - but I thought he worked himself into the game and played a few nice touches second half.

Every time I see him play, he seems to get naively caught the wrong side of the attacker on multiple occasions - but I do think he tries to look after the ball when he has it. Even if he played a couple of scary balls across the back line tonight.

On balance: I still don’t know what to make of him, but surely his lack of game time under a succession of managers tells its own story.

Started like he did against Mitoma that time and gradually grew into the game before fitness flopped.

People are saying he's done well tonight: he was tripe. 🤷‍♂️
Patto sends his love!

Most of that is due to him being unable to stay fit. He gets injured, a lot, which is a shame.

Put a great shift in all things considered. Played his part in an excellent away win.
In what sense was that a 'great shift'?

For 72 minutes he had to have a 19 year old - who is trying to break into the team himself as a winger - as his guardian doubling up on Hudson Odoi.

It was like playing with 10 men until Grealish came on.

He's an appalling player with zero positioning sense and no aptitude to defend.
