Supposedly although I'm struggling to wrap my hide around the fact he can't get a minute for us but is being chased by a team regularly competing and winning in Europe.Didn't we turn down Seville in the summer?

Didn't we turn down Seville in the summer?
We did, Kinnear claims we couldn't find a single RB in world football that was suitable during the summer in that interview he did with Baz from TT. We clearly still have much to do with our recruitment/player research.Didn't we turn down Seville in the summer?
They finished 17th last season, haven’t been top half for 3 seasons and have significant financial difficulties.Supposedly although I'm struggling to wrap my hide around the fact he can't get a minute for us but is being chased by a team regularly competing and winning in Europe.
To be fair we've never really been in a position to. I think sometimes people forget how much he's played (and how much he's been injured), it's not as if he's been a million miles away from the team it's just that nobody's ever seemed to really fancy him. At the start of 22/23 he was in the team, then he got 2 injuries in succession and didn't come back til the end of the season so we couldn't have loaned him that year. 23/24 he played in 25 of the first 29 games including 14 starts and only lost his place after the January window had closed so we couldn't really do it then. 24/25 he'd been injured since Chelsea in March until October so we couldn't do it then, January would have been a possibility but we changed managers so I assume Moyes probably wanted to have a look at him. There's only really the January that we signed him and this summer, where it seems like we probably did aim to let him go in some capacity, where it was a viable thing to do.Mad the way we haven't ever loaned him out

But also, just cause players don’t make it at one club, doesn’t mean they won’t manage at other clubs in other countries - see Kean and Lookman who bombed here.
You think he succeeded with us?I wouldn’t say Lookman bombed at all.

D'you know, if the feller was doing loads of stuff - as a first team squad player - off the field with EitC or something then you'd almost accept his ineptitude for PL football.
If you look at what he's been doing in those terms, though, it's nothing. There's barely two occasions he's listed on the EitC website for events attended since arriving here, whereas Coleman - similarly with lack of game time - has about 46 events and DCL - blighted with injury issues in his last 3 seasons here 26 turned up for 26 events in that same time.
He's just not interested in being here. It's disgraceful.
An utter waste of time and money he's been.
Tarkowski's recent comments on Patterson suggest a lack of discipline, which whilst we've been in relegation trouble quite often, might shed a bit more light over why successive managers haven't trusted him.
Tarkowski “Patto (Patterson) can lose his cool and start acting out on the pitch. I’ve seen Dwight [McNeil] lose it a few times too, but Patto really stands out, he can spiral, making wild reactions instead of just raising complaints to the referee."
That’s the point I was trying to make. Players do better at different clubs/different leagues. So I don’t find it strange that a club in another league might take a chance on Patterson.Yeah agree, and I've said on this forum in the past that we can't let him go out on loan as we're on our arse with numbers.
But still think there's been occasion when the club, knowing he's about 4th choice when we've had Young etc fill in over him could have sent him on loan for half a season.
He didn't with Leipzig, Fulham or Leicester after us.
Sometimes players take time to find their feet, their club, their maturity.
We've had loads who have struggled elsewhere like Pienaar.
