2025/26 Nathan Patterson

Injuries, loads of management changes and not taking his opportunities have lead to this.

It's not 1 thing but a combination.

If he could get game time, he will be fine but he has missed so much football in crucial period of his development that he might never reach the level we want him to.

We should have loaned him out, played him at Under 23's and used him in lesser games but relegation battles and lack of money meant we couldn't manage him

So basically we should have sold Coleman because Patterson is cheaper to keep. Even though we don’t know what Coleman’s new deal was.
But even though Patterson clearly isn’t a PL level player, we should have sold Coleman and kept Patterson just because he’s cheaper.
Or we should have sold both and added two more on to the list of new players needed.
Or we should have kept Coleman and sold Patterson.
Or we should have kept them both.

My hunch is neither is ideal but one is much more dependable than the other. Next season, both will be gone and 2 right backs will be added to 2 cb, 1 lb, 2 cm, 2 strikers, 1/2 wingers.

Rebuilding a squad isn’t easy is it!

Needs to go to a league one club or Scottish championship for a a season. Maybe Saudi he could get a game as a former international? Then hopefully finds something and ends up a decent career at Cowdenbeath or whatever.

Weir? Gough?

Two brilliant players. Imagine the strength in depth if we had those now.
