He gives me hope technically when on the ball but watching him last night (and games before) he looks physically off it. I’ve said before about how he warms up. He’s still only 22 but he really does need to be much more imposing and look both gym ready and match ready.

Hopefully the penny drops that some extra hours work make all the difference.

Maybe Scot’s don’t like the heat if I’m being kind.

Yeah he was blowing out of his arse after half an hour and that was only after doing a couple of runs up the wing

Who the hell sanctioned the purchase of this player, and at such a ridiculous price for someone that couldn't even get a game for Rangers? What were they basing their scouting on, because he's never, ever, looked anything other than absolutely crap!

It’s time for even the most staunch supporters who are still hopeful for this lad to come good to accept the reality.

He’s not PL standard and looks like a chubby right back from non league football.

His arse has its own post code.

David Moyes should be kicking his backside in the gym and getting him fighting fit

I know it's only preseason and they're trying to build up fitness, but he looked slower than Dwight, if that's possible.

I'm not sure anyone who gets paid that much to be a professional athlete should be losing too much fitness at any point other than during an injury.

There's folks on less than a week of Paterson's wages annually and who work 50 hours a week seated that are mega fit all year round due to the exercise they do in their spare time.

No chance he was injured in the last game. He will have either been sent away to get fit or we are selling him.
