2024/25 Nathan Patterson

I just think there are too many red flags with Patto. He probably deserves a run of games to see if he develop consistency as other players have been given the benefit of a doubt, but when you have the injury issues and there are questions about your consistency, you can't help but look towards other options. If we aren't giving Dixon a go, I would give Patto another game. I admit that he fell out of my pecking order after the hamstring issue.

Definitely worth another run out, it's unfair to judge him when he had starts against the top sides like Chelsea, Arsenal and... um... Ipswich. Maybe he'll put in a worldy performance against Southampton.

He'd never looked good enough. Just sell and move on. Couple of million back up north, sorted. Focus on a top left back first because O'Brien is fine at right back. If we fill our many holes in the squad and still have funds, go for a proper right back. Most important positions are 1x LB, 1x RW, 1x CF, 1x CM. After that, 1x RB, 1x CF, 1x CB.

He’s a liability every time he plays. He started last season under Dyche and was dropped because he was responsible for the most of the goals we were conceding. Both away at Sheffield United if I remember correctly.

He doesn’t know how to the basics. If a winger runs at him, he doesn’t show him outside or even show inside if that’s the best option. He’s just backs off and lets them take control.

His positional awareness is terrible too.

I felt for him with the equaliser. Ref should should have brought play back given he was holding his head but he went down a bit too easy for me.

He clearly has the right mindset in attack. I don't think defensively he is the monstrosity people make out. But man some of his decisions are bad. He just looks an airhead at times and he needs to start making better decisions. He doesn't have the recovery that the likes of Branthwaite has. He can't be making mistakes.

I was hoping that he would grab his chance but he was underwhelming. I agree with the idea that O Brien continues at right back next season because lots of money has to be spent on the forward line.

This is all dependent on us keeping Jarrod. He goes then Jake won’t be at right back. Proper headache until we sort our best player’s future.

Has been mishandled since the day he walked through the door here imo. Yes its clearly not worked for him but the club has done zero to help him during that time, could have and should have at least seen some sort of loan in the Championship/lower Euro league for some experience and better coaching.
Maybe, maybe not. Loans aren’t magic, you don’t just automatically get better because you went on loan. None of us have any idea how he’s been managed and coached behind the scenes, it’s easy to just claim everything would be different if we’d just done something else but it’s not really based on anything.

Been poor since he got here had the odd game where he looked ok but still errors in his game, clearly not the answer move on try and get some money for him and get a first choice RB for next season.

He's not got on over his time here because the club has been an absolute basketcase, and he has been mismanaged by clueless manager after clueless manager. The club has let him down (as they've let all of us down). I hope he leaves, but gets to go to Italy and boss it with the other Scots there.
