Pal of mine who is a rangers season ticket holder, can’t belive what’s happened to Patterson, rated him so highly, when we bought Pato, he was genuinely excited as he thought he was levels above rangers.

I hope a new manager comes in and can help him fulfil his potential, as apart from that start to the season under lampard I haven’t seen much to convince me he is good enough and he has no chance of developing under Dyche.

Levels above Rangers but couldn’t get into their team?

I really don't think it's fair for anybody to suggest he could be worse than Young, which is surely the acid test for whether he should be playing.

Young hasn't been particularly bad this season compared to a lot of our players, but he offers nothing in the opposition half and we need to beat weak teams, especially at home. Having two massively lacking full backs starting isn't going to help with that.

In terms of quality, Young is probably something like League One nowadays, and I don't think Patterson is worse, plus he is young and can clearly only improve vs Young who can't even run any more.

Should get the nod over Myko now IMO. He needs games and, conversely, Myko could do with a break.

This would be my back line for Wolves..

Pickford

Patterson
- Keane - Branthwaite - Young

Tarkowski needs binning for a game or two as well if you ask me.

Agree with that back 4 mate. At least with Patterson you'll get a decent ball into the box. When Mykolenko is bad he offers nothing at both ends of the pitch.

Crazy and scary that Young is now our best option at fullback.

The Dyche dislike of Patterson is a head-scratcher for me. Young does have the odd average day
but he's usually below the required level of a Premier League right-back. Yesterday, for example,
when Fernandes nutmegged him he actually did a sliding tackle from behind in the area! It reminded me
of Anfield last season when he got sent off for nothing when the team was doing ok.

Patterson can overlap, can centre, is more athletic and has not had a decent run in the team.

I really think that Dyche plays Young because they played together at Watford and they are mates. Patterson
has to play against Wolves and has to be given a run of games.
