But, Patterson has never been first choice for any of his managers.

I'm calling it, like i did with the overhype of Joel Robles and what loads of people on here said about him.

Patterson is not Premier League level, we need to sell while we can and make some money back.
The equation is that the more evidence we get that Patterson is crap the more his small but stubborn fan club want him to play.

The skipper's back soon in any case, then this Young v Patterson stuff gets put to bed.

Every team he has been a part of it doesn't select him as first choice.

Why did they not select him?

Answers on a postcard as they watch him fulltime every day in training.

Have you any idea how difficult it is for a youngster to break into Rangers or Celtics 1st team? Especially during the time of Gerard when Celtic had won 8 league titles in a row and we’re going for 9. Who do you think he’s going to choose, the Rangers captain, or a talented youngster? Answer on a postcard

More evidence? From when? Last 2 starts we have won and he helped get a clean sheet in one of them, and his cameos around those starts have been solid.

You pick apart his game for every decision or mistake he makes yet you aren’t doing that for others. Like I said earlier, if Patterson had played like young today, in terms of the crosses Mitoma was getting in and the cutbacks he made, you would have slaughtered him for every one. Instead you just made a generalised comment giving excuses for young about an unlucky deflection and tired legs which is down to the manager.

Patterson may not be the greatest player, far from it at this point, but he is not as bad as you make out and you are unfairly critical of him.

He is not going to shag you.

The last two games when he's come out to warm up at half time he's seemed more interested in messing around with his teammates than doing the drill. Needs to grow up if he wants to be taken seriously at this level.

He got the piss ripped out of him at West Ham.

Could you even imagine this thread if Patterson had scored that own goal today?

That’s what I don’t get around all of the criticism. Young has had a lot more mistakes that have actually cost goals, than Patterson has. Young has a lot more bookings and a red more than Patterson. Players get past Young as much as they do Patterson.

Patterson hasn’t been great but he’s not been that bad either, Young on the other hand has been poor, actually cost us, yet people go on about how Patterson makes them nervous, isn’t good and how Paqueta got past him etc.

It’s just kind of baffling that if you look at them equally, the player not playing isn’t really the one who deserved to be dropped.

Always am entertaining thread.

The usual suspects don't disappoint.

Biggoted nonsense. The fact that they deny it makes it funnier.

We should have signed the captain then. If he is better.
