Ya. But there are a number of tests you can do that will give a fair indication of what the issue is . If it was an acl you would be fairly sure before a scan
not necessarily, if the muscle mass compensates it'll only be patent when he is sedated. There are plenty of test but nothing will be as conclusive as an MRI and they are best done when the swelling has subsided.

Nothing 100 per cent conclusive. But from experience 90 per cent of the time they will know if it the cruciate within 24 hours

Whatever way unless its a miracle, you would not think he is back till Boxing day at the very earliest due to W/C etc, even if 6 weeks

Yep and that's a lot of games missed. I'm sure (incl the League Cup) it's about 9/10 games he'd miss which would be a real blow.

At least a week and a half would have passed by the time we play Southampton.

Best case scenario is 4 weeks from injury date and he would miss 4 games and be back for Palace at home

6 weeks would see him miss 7 games and back maybe for the League Cup and last league game before they go to the World Cup.

Longer than 6 weeks and he misses all 9 games before the World Cup and I'd be very worried that Coleman could break down in that period with an injury as well.
