A mate of mine has had naps since I can remember.

Back when we were 20 ish I can remember asking what time he finishes work.

Half 5! Sound. I'll be round with beer at six!!

Oh. Make it half 7. I'm gonna have a nap after work...

Oh ok. Sorry mate. I forgot you were a 70 year old woman...
Haha there is always one but ffs not when I was 20!!

Naps are fantastic, especially when you get woken up startled. You go from drowsy to wide eyed and supercharged in 30 mins. Only ever at weekends though.

Cant beat a good nap. Haven't had one for ages though cause of my work hours, these days i either sleep all day or sleep twice so don't get a chance for a nap.

I'm on holiday next week though so reckon i'll find time to fit one in.

I get up about six am these days so by the afternoon I'm finding it hard to stay awake, particularly if I'm reading or doing a crossword or something.

So I have a nap for twenty minutes.

20 mins is the optimum nap time. Apparently you can drink a coffee, nap and it will wake you up about 20 mins later.

I have never been able to kip during the day. I’ll maybe have a sleep on Christmas Day after being done in but all of a sudden I’ve found myself exhausted and needing an hour during the day. It’s happened twice this week.

I’m old too. Maybe it’s that?

No mate. Naps are good for you. Throughout my professional career I would take a 15-20 minute nap every single day, with my secretary holding back all calls or visitors. I could drop asleep without effort at airports or railways. It was nothing to do with being tired, just a way to switch off for a while......

It simply is not in my DNA to nap. It doesn't matter how tired I am. I simply can't.

I don't count drinking too much on the golf course and passing out at 3 in the afternoon for a couple of hours on the sofa. That would be the last time I had anything resembling a nap, and that was probably 5 years ago.

I am jealous of those who zonk out in the car and/or airplane. Man it would be so nice to get on a flight, and poof you wake up at your destination.

In work I've learnt that you sometimes simply need a quick 20-30 minute shut eye when you're doing those ultra long days and/or weeks.

It's not a frequent thing but I've got the ability to be able to sleep pretty much anywhere, so a floor will even do. Strangely, I never nap at home though.

I don’t tend to but did when my kids were younger. If I could get away with it though I probably would.

I think it’s quite natural for us to sleep a little in the day and healthy to do so. It just doesn’t fit in very well with modern life.
