Is there any good reason why the Everton players have the names on their shirts in lower case lettering, is it a cost cutting measure ? :dodgy:.

Just checked it again, Sigma players had upper case lettering so don't think it is to do with Europe, cost cutting still looks good for me.

Yeah, I don't think everyone has it.....but quite a few teams over the past few years have used lower case. Something a bit different I guess!

It is just for Europe but it seems only English teams are doing it. We did it last year also as did Citeh and Villa. Arsenal had lower case names against Celtic also this year.

Probably to get us mugs to buy shirts especially for European games with the distinctive lettering.
Cynical me? Never.

I think it looks good though.

I think we ahve always had different lettering and numbers in Europe, than in domestic competitions. it is probably just because the Premier League dictate the fonts and numbers and we want to look different.

Either that or the premierleague have trademarked the numbers and letters and we are not allowed to use them in a uefa competition

tish and pish

as if having 1 more lower case letter in the name would save money... who are we going to buy with the 38p saved? Jeffers?

It's a style thing

Every little helps, as they say in certain supermarkets. Big oak trees and all that sort of stuff.

It looks like a UEFA Cup/Europa Leage thing for English teams, it's not to do with cost. Villa, City and ourselves did it last season and Villa and Fulham are doing it again this season as are we.
