The trouble with clubs getting big investment is that they offer players inflated wages who wouldn't normally join them. It happened at City same as it happened at Chelsea. Once the club does well the players aren't needed, but nobody can really afford the wages.
Happened with Scott Parker. We were in for him, but only the geordies would pay his silly wages.
