Naismith 3 year extention

Sometimes I doubt whether Martinez realises just how big a club is managing. I really despair at some of his team selections, but today capped it all. Our best result of the season and he brings Naismith back into the fold, at the expense of Barkley who had a decent game last week. He talks up supposed interest of our players as a sign they are doing well. He needs to remind himself he is managing everton not Wigan.

Besic and Robles?
Yep.....Not good enough for where we want to be, along with others who came before Martinez but we have the core of a good team and pound for pound they should not be challenging for places IMHO

I think that was because our squad is lacking quality in depth. We need more quality signings. Not average depth footballers.
Couldn't agree more. Sorry to say some of his signings have not been good enough for everton football club. We had grave doubts about the qualities of Kone, Alcaraz and McGeady. And those doubts have prove well founded. McCarthy has been a great buy and we sign Lukaku that uses up all our transfer funds which doesn't allow us to build a team to play to his strengths. As for the decision to give long contracts to Naismith and Barry. Well enough said!!

Lol. How have you determined this?
Was there a need for the 'LOL'?

If you want a answer then just ask, don't mock.

We should be aiming for top 6, the way the season has panned out this year, I believe on our day we are better than Spurs and Liverpool so top 6 is a definite opportunity for us, and that is how I have came to the conclusion that Besic (no top European league pedigree) and Robles are not good enough to be in the starting xi of a club competing for the afore mentioned places.

LOL.

Besic has looked good when playing and he's only 22, there's plenty of time to improve and the same applies to Robles. Not saying that Besic should be a definite first choice starter, Robles should be while Howard's still here but I don't think we can say that they've proven themselves not good enough.

we can because of where we are, if they are part of the problem then my concern is they cannot be part of the solution

It's not like they've had a load of game time. It's the likes of Howard and Barry in front of them that have dragged us into this mess.

Naismith has had his fair share, in fact it would be fair to say that, today he came back and we lost. when was the last time a PL team with top 4 aspirations signed a player from the SPL and prospered?

Writing off a 22 year old international who has joined from another country. A player who has hardly started due to him learning the style, adapting to the pace of a demanding league, where the worlds best players play. I thought you were clueless last night when you questioned Roberto with money to spend; but this here cements that you really are. How you can't see that Besic has the ability of a ball playing, box to box, hard tackling midfielder, I'll never know...

It's Saturday mate btw. Just incase that passed you by.

Yeah I agree on Naismith. We have too many players that should be squad players that have featured too much during the season. Howard, Naismith, Barry, McGeady, Alcaraz, Kone. I just disagree on Robles and Besic. In my opinion they're young players with a bit of talent that deserve a chance.

Ifhe was what you are portraying him to be then he would be playing, even Martinez who signed him, in a game that meant nothing to us will not start him. just keep clutching at straws that the Kid is going to be good enough as will I. I just don't see it though.

Probably, but lets not get all Kopite on their quality, we do not have the next Xavi and Cassillas on our hands here. Robles was 3rd string to David De Gea in the AM Youth team and Besic was binned off from the top German League.

Ian. Not starting him has nothing to do with his ability as a player. Naismith was playing today, instead of Barkley as an example. Who knows what goes through Martinez' mind on his team selections and his thinking. I know one thing, he isn't starting because he is less capable than the likes of Barry or lacking ability.
