Naismith 3 year extention

You are saying he has shown as much as Mirallas? Give me a break.

In terms of work rate, consistency and endeavour, not just shown as much; he's shown massively more.

You can't have a team of flair players. You might want ten Mirallas, but that reflects on how you understand football tbh.

If you think Naismith deserves stock tonight when there was a good half dozen players worse, then you have an unreasonable agenda against the player.

Can we leave the "tonight" part out it? I am thinking of Everton at some time soon challenging regularly for Europe every season. And I am seeing the likes of Naismith, McGeady, Robles, Barry to name but 4 getting regular games for whatever reasons, and we are pushing towards a relegation battle.

But what's actually on the forum is not some sort of Osman slating such as never wanting to see him play again etc. It's people evaluating his input/talent and coming to the opinion he's a decent, solid bench option.

He is a good solid bench option and I agree he should be used more more sparingly, never gets rested or even subbed. It's down to Martinez how he is getting used in the team though and he gives his all in whatever role he's given! He just seems to get the blame for everything ie. When Ross doesn't do well, or Rom doesn't do well then it's somehow Naismith's fault?

None of that is reality my man. Go over and read their threads. But the difference is they have shown a level of output that can take us to a next level when surrounded by footballers of higher quality in the squad that Naismith ...and others (before someone goes on about other players not getting heat as well!)

Should be dropped against City, not through lack of effort, just to better accommodate team shape and not hitting his early season highs atm.

NAIL on the proverbial HEAD.

I'd hate to see Naismith's passing stats tonight. He must have attempted 40 passes and made about 20 of them. If we'd have had a proper number 10 on the pitch we'd have won that quite handily.

His passing which is usually backwards is particularly poor. But overall Naismith got stuck in, made a number of good headers, and ran his socks off.

But as usual it was not enough. And it rarely is.

We know he is crap on the wing. So his only place is playing off Lukaku. And that is where Barkley must play and especially if you play two defensive midfielders in Besic and Barry. Then what does RM do; bring on Etoo!!As the TV commentator said all he does is occupy an area that belongs to Barkley.

For me Naismith belongs together with Hibbert in the box named NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

When you are playing [Poor language removed] and lacking confidence the very first thing you need is effort. Naismith has this in spades AND he scores goals. We need him at the moment.
