No Pienaar, Maybe no mcfadden. No VDM - Neville will play.

Heard good things about Nunos performances recently but would like to see Baines get a run.

Jags over Stubbs for me, he needs a run of games, and Lescott seems to be a player who can play every week.

I expect Fernandes to feature but not sure whether he will last the ninety

Will we shift to 442 do you think rather than playing a striker out wide?

looks like a 4-1-2-1-1-1!

Doubt Moyes will drop Nevs. Could be an idea to play Baines (normally I prefer lescott as he is more solid defensively) as wigan wont be that dynamic going forward and explayers can sometimes come up with a goal.

Pienaar is obviously in the ACN, so I think we could see;

Neville Jags Lescott Baines

---------------Cars-------------

Arteta------Cahill- Fernandes-Osman

-------------------AJ------------------

or maybe a 4-4-2 with Vaughan or Cheeby in, depending on Fernandes/Osman's fitness.

lescott is solid everywhere but i believe his best position is centre back, so i like the way you have it on defense.

as i recall, fernandes plays a more defensive role in midfield, i'd expect to see him play somewhat level with carsley. if he's fit i'd love to see osman in at left wing (i think he's more effective in the 1 striker system, where he can really push forward and get some efforts on goal)

mine would be

howard

hibbo stubbs lescott valente (from i've seen he hasn't been bad, i'd rather we wait till baines is 100%, which he doesn't seem to be)

jags fernandes
arteta osman
cahill
johnson

carsley needs a break to imo, and i like what i've been seeing from jagielka, but i want to give him a chance at midfield, if it stops working out, we can sub carsley for stubbs, and switch jags back to right back.

bring on faddy for osman in the 65th minute, and bring on vaughan for AJ in around the 77th minute.

Howard

Neville - Jagielka - Lescott - Baines

Arteta - Fernandes - Cahill - Osman

AJ - Vaughan

I don't think we're not giving Vaughan enough time anywhere. I know Timmy is not as good in a 4 man midfield but I do believe that Vaughan is class and needs to be starting against Wigan!

Believe it or not it would probably be this line up:-

------------ Howard -------------

Neville - Jagielka - Lescott - Baines

------------ Carsley -----------------

Mcfadden - Fernandes - Cahill - Arteta

--------------- AJ -------------------

I don't think Osman would be ready just yet this Sunday, might save him for Chlesea.

My previous post was the Lineup I would prefer, but in all honesty I can see the same lineup as the last game featuring on saturday.

I do feel sorry for Hibbert and if Fernandes is playing it could be this line up instead:-

------------ Howard -------------

Hibbert - Jagielka - Lescott - Baines

------------ Carsley -----------------

Fernandes - Neville - Cahill - Arteta

--------------- AJ -------------------

Arteta and Fernandes might be the other way round, but it would be similar to what Pienaar and Arteta been doing.

This is the likely line up but I still prefer to my first choice line up, thinks Mcfadden is not doing too bad and against Wigan we should have no problem playing him there!

That's the formation I'd prefer against wigan too.

Spot on Andriy. (y)

I like your formation as well Andriy, but we are playing away so it's likely we want to keep it tight and play our passing game and score from the build up.

How about starting Vaughan up front instead of AJ?

Or may be a 4-4-1-1 formation with one of the striker just playing in front of the midfield?

Don't think Osman will be ready to start, but I think he needs gametime if Moyes wants him to start against Chelsea. Same for Fernandes.

It will be interseting to see how much Wednesday night influences his selection?

I dont think fernanders will start.....he's only played 3 games allseason. No reserve football in spain so he'll be well off the pace. Moyes is more likley to play ossie if he has a good week training. Otherwise it will be hibbert at RB an neville in the middle again. Ossie an manny on the bench. Probably AJ upfrount instead of vic.

Isint in nice we can speculate about what team to put out. Not like the last 10 years when we only had a first 11, If you were available you played.

Well done gaffer for assembeling a great squad.

First of all, first point seems valid enough.
Secondly, regarding Nuno...ARE YOU [Poor language removed] JOKING?!? He was [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] against City, probably our worst player, everytime he got the ball he gave it away or [Poor language removed] up in some other way, I say sell him

I don't think Manny will last the 90 either, he's only played 5 games all season, I think he might start him, but only because we're thin there at the moment, otherwise I think he'd struggle to start him if we still had Pienaar and Osman was fully fit, he'd have to prove himself and force his way into the team.
