Not at all. I'm saying the right are better are it, more organized and the super-rich on the right are typically more politically engaged than the super-rich on the left. Of course the left has some attempts to buy reform, however I'd liken them to the left's attempts at media: yes they exist but nobody in their right mind would consider any leftist media to be even half as effective and influential as Fox News.
Or how about Norquist and all the politicians who signed his pledges? The left has nothing remotely close to that. It's not an insult to the right; it's a compliment. The right is better organized, more united, and is better supported by corporations and private individuals. Typically rich liberals throw a little bit to Obama (or whomever) but by and large they don't invest (literally) in politics like the right. Believe me, I'm (obviously) liberal and most of us despise all the Democratic politicians and believe them to be (with a few exceptions) a bunch of cowards.
A lot of us consider most elected Democrats to be Reagan Republicans -- hell they aren't even that liberal ... Regan raised taxes multiple times (Regan raised taxes 7 to 11 times depending on who you believe) and these impotent jokers can't even manage one time.
We'd love to have a system like the right has and if individuals like Buffet exerted their influence (read: money) politically it would go a long way to helping our cause. Typically they donate to charity (which is great and borderline impossible to criticize ... although I'm trying). I wouldn't take that as an insult but you're entitled to get riled up for no reason if you insist.
I've lived in the US for most of my life so I'm well aware of how things work. People can disagree without being ill-informed my friend. But this is getting too political so I'm done ... we actually have a game this weekend!
Really? You must not watch the news much or are insulated from our mainstream media and their "objectivity."
I'm all for raising taxes believe or not. The issue is that the spending is flat out of control. Until Congress can show restraint, then keep taxes as they are. Once they demonstrably cut spending, then raising taxes is a given.
The right doesn't have groups like Acorn, George Soros, etc.... You don't give the left much credit.
