Player Valuation: £50k
.......... this made me wince.

The Everton manager has admitted for the first time that he might have to settle for players of a lower quality than he had originally targeted, just to make the numbers up"DAVID MOYES has revealed his determination to seal “six or seven” new additions to his threadbare squad in the final week of the transfer window.

Anybody we may sign has now been tarnished with a "you are plan C and a load of crap"

NOT in my opinion a very optimistic scenario and hardly a confidence booster to any new signings. "Six or seven" moneygrabbing journeymen is now the agenda.
WHY? BILL

He seems to be speaking some some sort of digital language, it be that he is trying to say:
KENWRIGHT OUT MOYES OUT

so now, when he signs a ''top player'' all the morose individuals that are moping about will be reinvigorated and become positive beacons of humanity in a sea of cuddles and smiles.

bless.

more tongue-in-cheek in my opinion.

on saturday he said whoever the media say we're signing then thats our targets.

followed by signing someone even nurnberg fans havent heard of. :P

Exactly-And how often have the media been right about Everton over the last few months? Seems like the fan forums are one step ahead this year!!!!!(y)

I understand what he is saying.
Moyes comes out in the press and basicly says who ever we buy now are not really the quality we want but they will have to do.
If i was a good player i would be wondering is he just after me cos he cant get anyone else, he is hurting their pride.
I think moyes could have put a little more thought into his comments even if its true.

That's a fair comment. Moyes needs to think carefully before he speaks, or at least keep his gob shut when he's nothing to add to what is obvious to anyone with a passing interest in the club.

But hold on, that quotation contains NO words from Moyes himself. They are the words of some hack journo who second guesses what Moyes is thinking.

The power of the written word, eh? (n)

It says Moyes has admitted for the first time that he's going to settle for less. Plus I also read comments from him on OS (I think) stating pretty much this, and this article certainly did contain direct quotes.

First: saying Moyes 'admitted' something without furnishing the words he used is not a statement of fact...it's just lazy, hackneyed journalism.

Second: I'd challenge you or anyone else to come up with a quotation where Moyes is using words like 'lower quality players' in relation to those he'd have to bring in. It's the type of insulting language I'm sure he'd avoid at all costs.

You can see the talks now if this where true

DM we want you to play for us..your [Poor language removed] and we dont want you but we're [Poor language removed] for numbers..how about it?

Player X..[Poor language removed] off..wheres me coat

I don't see an issue here.

Moyes had said in an interview he took the blame for not signing any players.

He said he was aiming for top quality players (champions league well known experience) etc... but now may have to go for lesser known players.

I'm sure he didnt mean we had to scrape the barrell.

In any case his comments won't have any effect.

It just means Moyes has now set himself more realistic goals when it comes to players.

somehow i doubt potential signings will be put off by his comments
