Sharpys top lip

Player Valuation: £60m
Just been looking at one of the other fans sites, were their was a thread asking about who they thought the best three signings for moyes has been. quite intresting i thought so i put it to you people. here's mine

1. cahill- 1.7m we are a total different team when he playes, great scoring ability, works his socks off, never say die.

2.arteta-2.2m dont think im my 28 years on this earth iv seen a more skillfull player in a everton shirt, he's a fukkin little gem

3.lescott-5m big strong powerful defender can play centre or left an likes to get forward, gets a goal or two an seems to take everything in his stride

just shows you dont have to go out an spend 15-20m to get true world class players, you just have to be a clever manager and take a chance (fat spanish waiters take note you'v spent bucket loads of cash on utter shiite)

I completely agree with that assessment.

Can you imagine the price they would fetch, say, if Real Madrid came in to take all three. 50 million would be letting them go too cheaply. And I am dead serious.

Right now, there is no better goalscoring midfielder in the world than Cahill. If Arteta is this good and doesn't get selected for Spain, you should expect to see Spain rated #1 in the next round of FIFA rankings and positions 2-5 blank, the talent MUST be incredible ;)

And Lescott. Sure he didn't have the most endearing performance for the Three Lions, but he was dropped in the international pressure cooker for his first competitive start. And playing under the dross that was McLaren. Makes Ferdinand look [Poor language removed] (oh, wait......he is). This lad will be in demand.

Cahill, Arteta & Lescott what a buy is not a bargain is a bloody clear out sale price value, 3 of them buy value add together is not even £10M, how much do they value now? From our point as view we won't sell any of them even someone offer us stupid money for any of them!

Once again Moyes had pick up another great loan signing for the season, I could see the manager signing up the lad in the January Transfer window, what's the point in waiting till the summer, when the lad has fit into the team already and already showing us sign of what he could do?

i can't possibly disagree with those 3 picks. never before have i seen everton players make so many headlines and front page stories on soccer sites, and those 3 are responsible.

they easily make up for van der meyde, which is the main blemish on Moyes's record (i'm not going to blame him for judas leaving us).

i wanted to be mad at moyes for buying yakubu, but i can't even do that as he's been doing well so far.

keep it up mate, he's got red hair but we don't care!

and yes, i completely agree with signing pienaar up sooner rather than later, and i'm sure thats what moyes will do.

Agree with the top 3 however I would have Arteta #1, Cahill #2 and Lescott #3.

Arteta was a absolute steal. Maybe the manager at Sociedad didn't like him but even before that he was young, talented and played well at top flight teams. Its amazing what he does considering at Barca's academy he said he was trained to be a holding midfielder. Arteta and Fabergas in the same midfield for Spain would be unstoppable, not that it will happen though.

Cahill was a great signing but as a Championship player in his mid-20s was unproven and cost about what he should of.

Even Yak is improving as he gets comfortable now.

You are always going to have your stinkers such as Krodulup and Van der Meyde every team has them. But most of Moyes signings have been quality with the money that he has had to spend. Remember Yak (11mil) + Cahill (1.75mil) + Lescott (5mil) + Arteta (2.2mil) + (most Likely) Pinnear (3mil) is still 4mil less than Torres.

Those three do standout although I'd also give a mention to Nigel Martyn on the basis that he didn't cost much and was an outstanding keeper for us and also Phil Neville because he was also good value and has been an outstanding professional for us and his versatility has been crucial many times.

I concur.

Also honourable mention to the Bent signing. Cost 500k, did well for us in one of our best seasons, then sold for 2.5mil. Great work Moyes :)

Cahill, Arteta and Lescott...

...Closely follwed by yobo and howard i think, both great players, and howard was a great find :)

I agree with you on Cahill and Arteta. But would have too say Howard instead of Lescott. He is should a good goalie and brings so much to the defence in terms of confidence. Second only to Big Nev and Martyn.
