Moyes

I don't get why anyone is giving him stick over the comments.

Earlier on in the season it looked like we might be dragged in to a relegation dogfight,

Because Moyes can't get us to start a season well, not to mention the f*cking insipid football we were playing at the time.

We'd lost a lot of established players and didn't even have a striker that was likely to get in to double figures.

Arteta & Yakubu both offered close to [Poor language removed] all in their last 12 months at the club, and that's a fact. Playing Saha with a woefully out of form Cahill behind him for months on end was a terrible tactical move from Moyes as well, he is not/never has been a lone striker.

Any of us would have been happy finishing top 10 at that point in time.

Through gritted teeth.

Moyes has his faults and can be overly cautious at times but I think some peoples expectations of where we should finish in the league when we spend a fraction of the money teams above us do is laughable

What about David Moyes' expectations? Getting 40 points and "finishing in the top 10"?...we know we can't buy the league but a bit of f*cking ambition wouldn't hurt...neither would a crack at winning a cup, might I add..

1-0 up against the sh*ttest Liverpool in recent memory and we bottled it again, just like we did in 2009.

Some responses for you there.

i agree with blue 1 that after the startwe had , to finish 7th is ok. my only concern is that we seem happy to be there anyway!!
whydo the press say we overachieve? personally , other then the top 2 i feel we are on a par with any of the top 6. chelsea, arsenal, spurs(when did they become this so called massive club??london press!!),newcastle??? player for player i fear none of them. we are about 15-20 million away from challinging the top of the table. only trouble is finding that 15-20 million. c'mon bill, find that cash!!!

I agree about a lot of his selections and tactics in the first part of the season. He was being too negative and using the wrong players in a lot of games, so yeah I do agree he was to blame too although our squad was a lot weaker than after the transfer window at that point.

I totally agree with that. Moyes has continually messed up strikers trying to play players that are used to playing in partnerships up front on their own alongside Cahill. It'd be ok if Cahill was a creative forward like Rooney, but he isn't so the striker would often end up isolated feeding off scraps.

I agree about what he says in public but I think if you watch Moyes on the sidelines and in the post match interviews you can tell that he won't accept anything less than 110% commitment in games from his players.

I think the comments we read in the press reflect him trying to manage fans expectations and take pressure off his players just like Mourinhio, Ferguson, Mancini do.

We were unlucky in that game. I'd never seen us look so comfortable against the RS as we did in the first half. Distin's back pass changed the game completely. The players never asserted themselves on the game after the equalizer. The only thing that annoyed me about Moyes in that game was not playing Drenthe, although I don't know for sure why he didn't put him in anyway, other than what I've heard through rumours. If Drenthe was fit to play, even if he turned up late etc we should have played him, he's our best technical player and a game changer.

Moyes infuriates me at times with his tactics, lineups and negative approach but he's done so much for the club compared to where we used to be before he came.

December 2011 - I thought we could get into the Champions League with the team we had
December 2011 - We're looking to avoid relegation first

Major changes to the squad ? Arteta and Pienaar.

So by Moyes' logic two players takes us from the Champions League to threatened by relegation. Bearing in mind that in December 2010 (Before Pienaar was sold) we were 15 points from 4th.

It's like he makes it up.

Truck off.

Saha was looking good for the 2010-11 season, after a decent 2009-10 season. Turns out he probaly peaked that year. - He was poor this season.

Yak was looking a decent proposition that season - he was so bad last season he was loaned to a championship team.

And Yes Pienaar and Arteta make a huge difference, particuarly 09-10 Arteta.

Quite frankly a lot of people though that 10-11 was our year, not just Moyes.

Moyes is a classic case of a MOTD manager.

Sure, its easy to show the 30 yard screamer he pulls out once a season after beating 6 men but no one wants to see the 47 passes hit into touch every game.

This isn't the same feller who took charge in 2002. That feller said he wanted to start every season believeing we could win the league. Now he's been taken over by this shithouse.

I reached the tipping point with him not too long ago. He's just a dullard, journeyman manager who's on the wage of an elite manager and isn't going to give that up in a hurry.

Basically he's taking the piss now by managing decline - and to do that he has to manage expectations. Every word he utters must be seen in that context.

PRINT THIS IN THE ECHO EVERY NIGHT PLEASE

"We will just try to keep winning, and I’ll be pleased with top 10,â€￾ he said. “I think the point just gets us top 10. Certainly our form from January might be better than the top 10, but I would have taken that all day long at the start of season".

Oh **** off you TIT.

Thats awful him saying that. I wish he had twitter so i can tell him why everything to do with that sentence is wrong.

I dont know whats worse, the "i would have taken that all day long at the start of the season" or the "our form from January MIGHT be better than the top 10"

Our form is top 5 ffs

DAVID MOYES admits Everton FC have surpassed his expectations for this season – after their draw with Stoke guaranteed them a top 10 finish.

That's right, 40 points safely in the bag, and maybe even a "top 10" finish again? Get the honours list out lads, we've got a few additions to make!

Someone give this [Poor language removed] a kick up the arse, you're not managing Bolton.

Check what his NET SPEND was this season then come back you beaut.

Someone needs to give you a kick up the arse.

He didn't get to bring anyone in UNTIL JANUARY 2012 !!!! FFS
