On reflection about Moyes/HK: Ferguson was Moyes' mentor. That was the deal with Moyes. He'd accept only SAF's advice and guidance if it gave him pole position for the United job. I could actually imagine Ferguson getting the hump over any feedback given to him that Moyes was taking notice of Howard. He'd have been that petty.
Just a thought on the possible explanation for the cold front shown by Moyes toward HK. His complete bending of the knee to SAF.
I'd go with that. It's not the Everton way, it was Moyes' way. Actually it was Lord Ferg's way, effectively swapping Rooney for a handful of Utd castoffs, one of which became our longest-serving captain of all time. I don't normally have least-favourite players, but with Phil Neville I made an exception.
